A8 SS EXHAUST STOPPED BARKING/popping AT FULL THROTTLE

Strange , I'm at 12k miles and I just noticed that when I accelerate at full throttle, my NPP exhaust is NOT barking/poping anymore during auto gear shifts? I really love this awesome feature and I'm really missing the sound during shift points. The weird thing is that i noticed the unfortunate after a warranty oil change? Not sure if it's related , but the timing is suspicious. Is anyone else experiencing the described issue? I'm curious to hear some feedback before I reach out to the dealership. thanks

I notice you live in Boulder. If it was cold before and has gotten warmer, that is probably the reason. The cold temp outside and hot exhaust gases is what cause big pops

Are you in touring and normally have it in Sport or Track? I think it does it better in Sport or Track.

Exhaustt tone changes a bit once it gets a little seasoned. You may gave enough carbon builup up in the exhaust to change it just enough. Its just something ive noticed on my car and its been posted quit a few times over the years.

I noticed my M6 SS stopped popping so much when I installed a Cold Air Inductions CAI system earlier this month. I set my exhaust in the Track setting for all the time. I too think that the temperature outside might have an effect on the decel popping.

As my car warms up the popping goes away, especially now with the warmer weather. The pop is loudest on a cold start and lasts longer when it's cold out because it takes longer for the car to warm up.

ah ha ha........so true. The drivers are so kind to those type of vehicles. I noticed that while driving behind them with my Camaro, they purposely slow down under the speed limit. lol makes them feel superior !!

I was specifically talking to the exhaust pop/bark at transmission shift points at full throttle. I hear it may be intentionally programed by GM for gear shift stress relief. Anyhoot's, it's barking again.......I believe it was related to a performance higher octane fuel ratio I had used. I'm pumping premium hi octane from gas station again and the exhaust is barking again at full throttle shift points.

Fuel isn't what fixed it. It will do it with 87 octane.

Put the car in touring and try it, then put it in sport and try it again.
