My Experience With GM's Shop-Click-Drive - SS 1LE Purchase

I wanted to lease an SS 1LE as a summer/fun car and ended up trying the Shop-Click-Drive program. Before deciding to try this program, I contacted several dealers with 1LE on the lot and tried to get a good lease rate. After some back and forth, I was pretty much quoted the same rate from 4 dealers (high $500s for 39 month with $5k down). I came to understand that Camaro lease rates are relatively high from this forum. I was considering either financing or giving up.

One of my local dealers offered the Shop-Click-Drive program. I saw that the lease terms were really attractive (high $400s for 39 month with 10% down). There was very little concrete information on this program and I was highly skeptical. GM makes it seem like almost a direct online purchase. You find a dealer with the car you want, order online, apply for credit, and have your car delivered to you!

I decided to try anyway not expecting much. The online ordering process was very easy, 5-10 min. tops. A day later, I got a call from the dealer asking me to come in to sign the paperwork. At this point, I was highly suspicious. Surely this whole thing is just a ploy for the dealer to get me to come to the showroom and hear their speil. GM's description of the program make it seem like you don't have to go to the dealer. You sign the paperwork when your car is delivered.

I decided to go to the dealer and see how it plays out. It was quite a pleasant surprise when I went in. The paperwork and keys were all ready for me. I just had to confirm insurance. The dealer didn't deliver the car to me but everything else was smooth and quick.

Congrats!

I wouldn't want them driving my car anyway even if they offered delivery to my door.

Thanks for posting your experience.

So - no phone calls, no emails, no texts, no wearing you down for hours so you will sign anything to get it over with?

No F&I satanic weasel selling you payment insurance?

With delivery - don't even have to see the evil dealer sh*thole. (Worked in them for years)

Now that you posted it works, I'm IN!
