5th Gen z28 wheels on 2016 2SS
Hey folks, my apologies if this has already been done. A friend of mine wanted to see how his z28 wheels looked on my 6th gen yesterday so we went ahead and threw them on. At first, once we let the car down off the jack, it looked like the fender gap was ridiculous, but once I rolled the car forward a few feet things looked much better. I'd guess about an inch drop would make these a perfect fit height wise. Sure, they stick out on width and would need some fender flares to fix that, but I actually like the "Mad Max" look myself and would be in no rush to cover them I suspect.
z28 wheels are 19" tall, with the fronts being 11" wide and the rears being 11.5" wide. The tyres are 305/30 all the way around. Speed would ideally need to be recalibrated to run these - I'd probably not bother as I'd likely only use them on the track myself. Cheers. |

What are the offsets on these and how much do they go for (presumably from a dealer???). Thx!

they look good.. any side shots? The rims should poke out a lil since those are wider wheels.. slight poke = aggressive look however.

Thank you!
FYI to OP: this increases F track by 2 inches vs stock and will induce more oversteer by loading outside R tire more. Just FYI when u test on a track. |

I'm keen to see if he'll let me put them back on for some road testing and 0-60 runs at some point. My car is the six speed and my best 0-60 so far is a flat 4.0 on stock so it'll be interesting to see the increased grip in both straight-line launch and some on/off-ramp "spirited" steering - pretty much the only time I get to push the grip to it's limits off the track. |

http://www.thatgmpartsguy.com/wheels...ls?parent=1068 They're much lighter than the stock wheels and tyres, which is another bonus. I'll see if I can compare them on a scale next time, but from feel it's as if they're about half the weight - it's quite remarkable, actually! Back on tyres, I thought they were Pirelli P1s but I'm probably mistaken (I'm not even sure that exists!) and they're actually Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R. The pattern looks the same to me, anyway. Of course there are much cheaper options for 305/30-19 tyres. |

BTW I can get these from a local GM dealer for 4G CAD which is about the same price as the parts guy. So not sure they really sell for 4G USD as everything seems cheaper S of the border

did you get a chance to see how much room there is at the drivers side rear fender well where the harness is? Im planning to move the harness regardless what rim to go with..but would like to go 325s on this size rim. thanks!

I have fat 315's on an 11 inch rim, when I moved the harness back there is about an inch from the harness to the tire. I think you should be fine though as long as you move the wire.. but it will get tight. |
