Smaller rims for bigger tires?
Hey guys. Wanting to throw some meaty tires on my zl1. How small can you go without doing a small brake conversion 18"?

This has been covered a fair amount but basically almost nobody has tested much yet as the car is absolutely brand new. However, there is a member (@zl1_tommy) that runs a 17x10 Weld in the rear. The front brakes are larger and can't take as small of a wheel. I'm sure there are 18" wheels that will clear the rear but the front is still a misnomer as far as I know. I'm sure members will be chiming in.

Weld 17x10s fit with Hoosier slicks. You have to make sure the wheel weights are not inline with the brake components. Otherwise, about 3/8 clearance from all brake hardware. Spent the afternoon checking everything and repositioning the weights. These are the same ones I ran on my 2012 ZL1.
