First oil and diff fluid change
So I stop in at my dealer's service department to introduce myself as a new (and a bit anal) 1LE owner and to inquire about doing my first oil change at 1K miles. Assistant Service Manager says no problem, that it will be the first of the two freebies. Then I ask about the diff fluid. He says no problem, around $250. I said, WHAT? He says the synthetic diff fluid is super expensive. Is this what a diff fluid change should cost? If this is out of line, I'll be looking for a high performance shop. I'd do it myself but, at 4 months from 70, the only maintenance I'm doing is on my motorcycle.

A couple of members have talked about a price gouge like that. The fluid isn't expensive, and it'll take about 30 minutes to do.

Yeh Mal I was quoted $230 by the local Hendrick dealers(the big boys), after studying on here I know it's less than two quarts of fluid and maybe 30 mins labor. I didn't say a word to there $230, I proceeded to call a "small town" dealer a friend of mine worked at and they quoted me $103 plus tax, I didn't mind making the 45 mins drive to the smaller dealer, they took excellent care of me and will be getting my business going forward. It's ridiculous what some of these places get away with and people pay because either they don't know better or just out of convenience.

Man, that's insane. And, with the eLSD, I wanna make sure it's done right.

It's just like any old diff fluid swap, you don't mess with the eLSD compartment.

$25-$30 in fluid... I'll post a howto on it later this weekend. This topic has been a bit confusing especially with the 1LE/ZL1's because of the separate fluid for the e-diff (that does not need to be done nearly as often).
2 of these --> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and one of these to pump it into there! --> https://www.amazon.com/Plews-55001-L...2H5XE3AAX3YV20

eLSD fluid change is no different that the regular diffs. The eLSD has 2 different fluids, the main diff has fluid and the eLSD has fluid. You will be only changing the main diff fluid, you wont be touching the eLSD fluid.
