Go with the Camaro 2SS. Think you will be happier in the long run. I personally would opt for the M6 instead of the A8 but it's your choice!! Camaro for sure though.

Yeah, that's the exact dilemma I am having. Essentially, is the V8 worth $10,000 more than the V6. Or conversely, is the V6 enough engine that I won't be kicking myself? I know it sounds good, but does it feel good? I don't want to run into the BRZ situation again where I feel the chassis is way better than the engine.

I think the best option is the ATS-V since you would use this car for everything. The reason I say this is that on long trips I find the Camaro seats to be a little uncomfortable as well as the trunk space/opening is awful.

I assume the ATS-V has better opening and trunk space and is more comfortable on long trips. However I still voted the Camaro SS because for myself thats the one I would rather have regardless of the points I listed above.

I also live in Canada and my Camaro is my only vehicle, I also use it in winter. For perspective my 2LT was fully loaded and stickered at 51k CAD. i got it for 52.5k out the door(13% tax is great). The only manufacturing incentive given was $500, I believe you can get up to $4000 before negotiations right now.

The V6 is very good, is more power better? Of course. However coming from a BRZ the V6 will feel splendid. I have tons of fun with it, but the low end torque is pretty non existent. It still feels great putting your foot down at a light. Its up to you to decide if its worth 10k more, your best bet is to test drive a V6 so you can compare yourself as you will get mixed responses here saying it is and it isn't.

I never drove the V6 because I knew I wanted the V8. Even though I am wasting 90% of the engines capability, I love it and wouldn't change a thing.

$10,000 is a lot of money, but I find it is worth it. If you're a car nut, have to own at least one V8 powered car just to experience it before they go away or become prohibitively expensive, IMHO.

If I had a Los Angeles-like traffic slog, ... I know it wasn't on your list, but I would get a Chevy Bolt and enjoy the HOV stickers. I understand you may not have such a free-pass arrangement in Canada, but it has enough range for a week's worth of commute on a single charge. If your commute is stop and go, you'd be regenerating range; I think you'd still get your weekly commute out of a single charge, even with colder temperatures. The maintenance is amazingly low (e.g., tire changes until a coolant change at 150,000 miles). They guaranteed 65% of range capacity up to eight years. You would, however, probably want to pass on your track days, even though the low rolling resistant tires could let you drift. Charge at home at night, and you'll only look for gas station for snacks or a car wash.

Otherwise, I too would go with the Camaro SS even though I am reluctant to shell out $1,500 every other year for tires.

By positioning themselves against the German three, Cadillac has downsized it's engines, and I think the result has been very un-Cadillac.

As much as I have been impressed by the interiors of the Lexuses I've checked out at auto shows, I just can't live with the car's spindle grill.

The $4,000 incentive is only on cash purchases. If you crunch the numbers, the 0% financing ends up saving more money as the next closest bank rate would result in paying $6,000 or so in interest over the 60 months.

My recollection is that the trunk opening of the ATS is very similar to the Camaro. I had two ATS (a sedan one year, a coupe the next) as company assigned vehicles. Very nice cars, decent trunk size, but the openings were such that I could not carry stuff in the trunk that I normally carried in the trunk of my other assigned vehicles. I am a weekend musician (bass player). I could not fit either of my smallest amps into the trunk of the ATS. The trunk was big enough to hold them, but I couldn't get them through the opening. So, they sat on the backseat. Same as they do for my Camaro convertible.

The picture below shows my combo amp on top of my extension cabinet. Neither of these pieces fit through the trunk opening of either the ATS or Camaro. (sidenote...ironically, as I post this, I am wearing that exact shirt)

why not a 2SS manual if one of your options is a 1le?
2SS would be my only option

Vote for 2SS. RC-F is more pricey with the same fun you can get with 2SS. If you go with 2SS, you do need to consider buying all-season tires or winter tires into your cost. Not sure about the tires come with the other 3 choices.

You're going to get some awefully bias responses on here but honestly, I'd opt for the ATS-V. My only grips with those cars, is that as soon as you want to do any serious mods, you have to swap out the cams for more fuel and with that platform, that is very expensive.

I should probably have included in my original post that my wife had an ATS 2.0T as her company car and I think the trunk is on par with the Camaro. The opening is slightly larger on the ATS, but the rear subwoofer intrudes on the right side, so it's functionally almost as short, but less deep than the Camaro's.

Incidentally, my experience with her ATS is what had me looking at the Camaro--the Alpha chassis is so damn good.

It's actually the inverse. If the 2LT 1LE came as an automatic, I would get that over the 6MT. I love driving manuals, but would prefer an automatic with the traffic slog.

Cadillac ATS-V...something about that car tugs at my heart & soul whenever I see one. If the price was right, I would have that car instead of the 2SS.
