It is a track car.

So is the SS 1LE, and ZL1...and all of them are still Camaros. So all Camaro/factory GM rules apply....It'll most likely have CAGS. And yes, it'll need new fluid before a track day.

But don't worry too much, I have heard they will be providing a track-day manual, of sorts, providing owners with everything they'll need to know before hitting the track. Including suspension settings for different types of tracks.

Nice! That would be very beneficial.

If I may be so bold as to suggest there may be value in trying the car on the track with standard OEM DOT4 fill unless you are an Andretti. I had factory fill for several heavy sessions over 4 track days and never boiled the fluid. Most will not. But it is cheap insurance I suppose. OEM Brembo pads are very capable as well although I lost mine in 5 events and have since found bliss in a track/street blend.

Enjoy the ride.

"Over $70k". The 1st indication of a price for the ZL1 1LE.

I would guess that sounds about right...I couldn't watch the video did the announcer person say it, or someone behind the camera?

Keep something in mind as folks start to guess price...

There will be a $995 destination charge, and a $1300 gas guzzler tax. Chevy often includes these when stating price...they did with the last Z/28, anyways.

Then, the V6 1LE package was 3500...the SS 1LE package was 6500...you can bet this one will be more. 8500-9500, maybe? Then PDR will probably be extra...but there aren't many options besides that, Carbon Fiber Dash, and Navigation.

The spokes model did in reference to the price range of the entire Camaro line. Without watching it again, I believe that she stated from $26,000 to over $70,000.

.

With the ZL1 already being loaded, unlike the SS 1LE, you're not getting additional niceties "just" the wheels, tires, suspension and aero.

They don't want to commit the same sin as that they did with the Gen 5 Z/28 and they have I'd imagine the practically fictitious GT350R MSRP with the Electronics Package to use as a measure.

interesting...that may have been a reference to a convertible ZL1? Usually they don't include real data in those scripts before anything is publicly released...

The SS 1LE doesn't get a whole lot of "niceties" over a 1SS...HUD and leather-wrapped back seats is pretty much it. Whereas the equipment included with ZL1 1LE is far and away more expensive than what it included with SS 1LE....

They have avoided the convenience issue by including the ZL1 interior trim and equipment. Even at $9500 (can't imagine it going higher than that), the car will still cost less than the Z/28 did, which is good. And they will further avoid the price issue by making this an optional package that must be ordered on top of a regular ZL1, as opposed to a separate model. Really clever if you think about it...

All in theory at this point, of course...

Excellent point regarding an A10 ZL1 convertible perhaps being the point of reference.

They gave a very clear heads up that the Z/28 would be the most expensive Camaro ever...and it was....We have yet to hear any change to that with the ZL1, convertible, 1LE or otherwise....Hopefully the Gen 5 Z/28 will retain that title....
