Possible purchase looking for advice
So I got the go ahead from my wife to purchase a 2nd car. I honestly didn't really look at camaro's until recently. I am really torn between a gen 5 zl1 or a gen 6 ss. I have loaded 2013 Cummins as my main ride but I am looking for something on nice days to take for a spin along with back and forth to work. I don't plan on going full crazy with the car just mild bolt on's down the road. I guess I am looking to which would be the better buy for the money and what I'll enjoy more also.

I'm gonna personally say the 6th gen. Nothing against the 5th but it was always to dated for me to even consider.

After owning I both, I would never recommend a gen 5 over a gen 6 period. It's night and day, ZL1 or not. I take a 1ss gen 6 over gen 5 ZL1 even.

Go test drive both and decide. Of course your asking on a 6G forrum, so it will be a little bias. All depends on what you are really wanting.

When buying a new phone do you purchase the outgoing model or the latest and greatest hardware/software?
It really is a big difference between both generations... If you've never owned one you'll be happy either way but I'd drive both if I were you...

The 5th gen is a pig. You really cannot go wrong with the new 6th gen Camaro, especially the SS.

Well, I'm LUCKY enough to own a 6th gen, BUT, I would NEVER call a 5th Gen a "PIG" They were a GREAT Car in Their Time, The Technology has just gotten better, My advise would Buy the BEST Car that You can afford.

I drove them back-to-back (15 ZL1-16 SS) at the dealer and the 16 SS was an easy pick. Fit, finish , and handling made for a better overall package. Added a Edelbrock supercharger to my SS and now have the best of both worlds!

it probably would depend on your size,if youre anything over 6 ft 2 ,230# you might like the 5th gen better.you should be able to get a deal on either though.

I traded in a 13 ZL1 for a 2SS with MRC. Once I saw the gen6 in person and sat inside, the gen5 looked really dated. Add that a new SS is as quick as the old ZL1, I couldn't make the change fast enough. One year and 9,500 miles later, no regrets.
