New member and first road trip in my new 1LE

Hello all, first post here and thanks to all for the sound advise I've received so far.

I though I'd get my initial break-in over in one day as we put over 500 miles on the beast. We traveled the back roads of Texas and had a wonderful time.

Impressions. The car is a better cruiser than I thought it would be. Very manageable on the back roads. Wasn't too terrible rough riding and the stick and clutch combo were very driver friendly.

Spent most of the day working up and down the RPM range up to 4K.

The best part was after a full day in the car, my 50+ year old body didn't feel beat up like some cars I've driven.

I think I made a wise choice with this car.

Awesome feedback tom
Just the sort of review I can use to convince my partner that we too could enjoy this car!

I was a little worried about the Recaro seats after riding in them, but now after almost 3 months I wouldn't have it any other way. They are some of the most comfortable seats I have sat in other than the ones in the wifes Audi SQ5.

While the 1LE package seems like it could make the SS more of a track car, I have to honestly say the SS 1LE is a great DD car hands down. The power, handling, brakes and seats make for a great ride.

Other than change some things out to make the interior a little nicer than the sparse 1SS package, I haven't done much to mine yet. As soon as my GM certificate clears a hurdle I will have $1500 to spend so I am going to order the ZL1 1LE tail lights, the illuminated door sill plates and either a car cover or the GM strut tower brace.

Congratulations, look forward to some pictures!

Just recently purchased a 1LT 1LE and my dad and I will be driving it from California to Florida this summer. He will be glad to hear that it worked well for your 500 miler .
