Finally got my recall done. The lines were replaced. Took it in last Friday and had to stay over the weekend. Got a 2017 GMC Sierra Crew Cab loaner though, very nice truck. My 2005 Silverado Crew Cab looks so outdated next to it. The car was done by the end of day on Monday. No issues.

Talking Recall Done

I had the recall done on Tuesday. They replaced the lines and trimmed the bolt. They had it about 3/4 of a day. The job was well done and clean.

I agree!

I'm writing this post while sitting in the customer's lounge of my dealership... I was quoted 3 hours to address this recall... that was 7 hours ago!!... I will say that the dealership did offer me a loaner, but I already have to drive about an hr to get here and I really didn't want to have to turn around and come right back as soon as I got home (wishful thinking on my part)... Just wanted to warn other members just in case you're looking to schedule yours. Plan for them to have it for the day!

It really just depends on the car and what they find, and how many miles you drove on it before taking it in. Mine is not a daily driver so it hadn't vibrated and caused any issues so all I needed to get done was remove the stud, everything else passed inspection so I was in and out in an hour, and that included doing an oil change.

After they have the car for 30 min, I'd just ask your service adviser if they are replacing any of the line, if so, get out of there haha, it's gonna be a long day.

I had my line replaced on 4/14/17. I made an appointment for 4/13 but the dealer was unable to even look at the car despite having it the entire day. I assume they started working on the car on 4/14 and finished it around 3PM. My car build date was around 6/8/16.

So far it's taken 3 weeks to get the parts, now my dealership is saying it will take 8 hours to do and will not give me a loaner even though I'm coming from over 100 miles away.

Once I mentioned that I would contact Chevy they quickly buckle and asked me for a copy of my DL and insurance. They then told me a 2017 Silverado will be there for me on the day I drop off (Saturday) and to keep it for up to a week but my car will be ready on Tuesday. Hopefully it doesn't end up like some of the few that blow out all their tranny fluid. Just don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling from this dealership, but it's them or another 50 miles further to another one. Damned if you do Damned if you don't I guess.

I trimmed the stud myself no visible signs of contact there. The original Cat bracket is gone with the installation of my longtubes so im leaving it alone.

I refused to let my dealer do the recall last week when I had the trans flush done. Some things are better left alone.

Took mine yesterday for oil change and recall , thankfully they didn't have to change lines , they gave it a good inspection , I really didn't like seeing my car that high in the air
