track results

I got my ported IM/TB only, best was 7.84 1/8 ,85 degrees and muggy at Ohio Valley Raceway... last Oct. 7.84 1/8 and 12.09 1/4 mile bone stock but with perfect cool weather at Beech Bend. Plus yesterday my car was short shifting in 1st gear at about 6000rpm even when I was doing a burnout.... maybe a tune will fix this, because im sure if my car would go to redline in 1st gear close to a full .10 or so... But these cars are not 1/8 mile cars, because on the big end my car really runs out well...

From how these cars back half and the way the power drops after 5k rpm the feel like more of an 1/8 car to me.

Really good times btw

Bro, the DA there right now is +2,600ft. So I am guessing your runs where in +2,800ft DA area. Beach Bend is only at +2,488 DA right now. So just being at that track today would have gotten you better times. Not to mention what the DA was in October. What was the MPH? I only ran 8.00's stock in +1,800ish air. I would say you are doing pretty good with the car short shifting with just my ported IM/TB on the car as the only mods.

Post both slips if you can. I would like to compare some stuff.

YES , tires are next then tune and CAI but before the IM/TB ported in Oct. the car run the same but the DA was around 350 and Wednesday at ohio valley raceway in Louisville the DA was 2320 and my mph drop 1. I run 91plus mph and in October I ran 92plus mph. But the short shift drops my rpms too low in 2nd gear I feel like??? Even doing a burnout it kind of boggs down a little once it hits 2nd gear. It started to do that after I disconnected my battery and the IM/TB install hopefully it will start to shift at redline again. I super happy the the job Pray did on my IM and TB. I can tell a big difference. It ran the same times but the DA was crazy! But it hits 4th gear its like it jumps into super speed... or maybe I'm just pumped up!!! lol

I was quoting what Airdensityonline was telling me for DA. I have found Drag times to be inconsistent and just flat out wrong for some tracks. Either way the DA was up at least 2K and you ran the same ET and one less mph. The mph could be due to a ton of things. One could be TM being hit now, COTS since it is so much hotter and the list goes on. With out logs it is all conjecture. A 6K shift out of first will drop you below 4,500 in 2nd which for sure isnt helping. I am super happy how the IM/TB performed in that weather though.

Agreed, mine seemed to peak around 5800rpm when stock.

What do you think is causing my car to short shift in 1st gear into 2nd? Should I disconnect the battery again and see if this will reset the shift points? or is that just a waste of time... I only have about 60 or 70 miles on it since the ported IM/TB install...

The mph set for 1st gear to shift at is no where near the Commanded rpm. Most cars shift around 5,500 -5,800 from what I have seen. There are two different mph settings depending on what mode you are in. The trans does have an adaptive learning function that will set shift points and pressures to its learned driving style. Not sure how Mich stock I put into that but it could have been cleared with disconnecting the battery.
