Chasing GT350 in Camaro SS

I had a chance to chase GT350 on race track yesterday.
I was following a Miata for a few corners before Miata let me pass, and I realized there was GT350 on my butt.
Decided to let him pass me as soon as I passed Miata, and tried to keep up with him. (GT350 sounded awesome at WOT when he was passing me!)

He was definitely pulling away from me on straight but not by big margin as I thought. (70 more pony worth) I was actually keeping him in sight for 2 laps, before the session ended.
(End of video is the end of session)

Enjoy~~~

I don't know what happened with title of the thread... It was supposed to say "Chasing GT350 in Camaro SS"

How do I edit the title? Can't seem to find a way to edit it....

Nice meeting you there this weekend! Nice lines. I see you were experimenting with Turn 10b; there appears to be two philosophies for that corner, and I'm not sure which one is quicker. Entering in the middle allows for a faster entry but requires quicker rotation, whereas entering on the left requires more initial braking but allows more time at WOT after the apex. I typically do the latter as I tend to be of the school of thought that maximizing the radius is quicker.

If you're interested, here's my PDR video in my 1LE of the session after lunch on Saturday. Skip to 12:30 to see when I caught up to you.

Nice meeting you too! It felt like I was running ok, until you showed up behind and disappeared in one lap!
I watched your video a few times already. What happened to the sound though?
1:41.04 is crazy fast for stock set up. (I was running 1:45)

As I posted, I was at least able to keep the GT350 in sight for a few laps and GT3 couldn't pull away that fast from me either, but you,,,, you just disappeared from my view in about a lap.
As much as I wanna say that's the gap between 1LE and regular SS, I am sure driver skill difference contributed a lot for the 4 sec gap per lap.... (I need ZL1LE!!! )

About the 10b (and also with 5 & 6), yes I was experimenting last weekend - I only visit Gingerman once a year, so it feels new and different every time.
I'll try to hit Gingerman couple more times this year to figure out what line works better for me and my car.

I'm Jealous, That looks so fun. Hey jaymsu, what tires are you running? If they are RE71's how did they compare to RS3's? speed, wear, heat?

Still using up the RS3s - once I'm done with these, ill put on RE71s, and will report back. RS3s wear impressively well.
