Ok, now that the numbers are in...any disappointment?

I was hoping/predicting that the new ZL1 would be a 10 second capable car, stock. I know it's a fantastic all around car but the 1/4 mile performance really does matter to me. I also understand why GM has made the torque management system so stringent, but it kinda sucks that it's allowing the kitty to run wild on us at the track.

Even knowing this, it's still not enough to keep me from getting one. I'm just a little disappointed.

Is anyone else disappointed? Are there any plans to change that, or are you satisfied?

The TQM is pretty disappointing, but wouldn't stop me from buying it again. It'll eventually be tuned so TQM will be gone and it will be a moot point.

I am a little disappointed in the 0-100 of this car but let me tell you from 100-150 is amazing. Never felt a car so smooth at that speed. It will run tens with a tune easy.

Not disappointed. 1/4mi isn't the end all of performance and not the car's primary focus.

Agreed!

Fellas, 1/4 mile times did not factor into my decision. I bought this car to kick some expensive asses around the road course

Yeah and how do those Hellcat's do on a road course?

Would rather have a car a little slower in the 1/4 if it means complete road course dominance. The Hellcat is 1 dimensional, would rather have a car that can do both.

Hey I love fast cars too...........
I drive a Hellcat about 2x a week. Fast? oh yeah, it handles and brakes pretty good for a car its size and weight.

5th Gen out handles and brakes it any day of the week!!
6th Gen, you cant put a 6th Gen and Hellcat in the same sentence, LOL

I drove a 5th Gen ZL1 until 2 weeks ago......

I have said it many times on here "the car is the sum of its parts"

Complaint I had about the 5th Gen was it was kinda doggy, felt like my 2010 with longer legs. The 6th Gen ZL1, OMG power EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!

100% no regrets. This car continues to amaze everytime I turn the key and go. I can't go anywhere without getting the stares. The performance is incredible and I would say the drive is far superior to my C7's. My C7 Z06 and Z51 never got the broken neck looks like this car does! One word : FAWESOME

They've gone 11.1x at sea level with just tires, don't think that there won't be some high 10 sec passes in some good negative da. I think we'll see a couple people on the right night eek out a 10 second pass with just a tire swap.....just like the hellcat

Just bc the dozen or so people on the internet having broken into the 10s yet, doesn't mean it won't happen.

Way too early on how fast these cars can go. Plus I don't live my life 1/4 mile at a time. Overall fit and finish of the 6th is far an above of that of the 5th gen.

+1

With headers, upper and lower Lingenfelter pulleys and tune I can tell you that if "someone", other than me, did the 1/4 in my car it would turn a very fast time.

I say "someone" because I'm not experienced doing 1/4 runs.

Any takers?

Not sure what is to be disappointed about. It's a known engine with pretty much the same calibration that's been around for years but now it's in a vehicle that weighs another 400-500 lbs and we already know what the Z06 does. Doing the math is not difficult and the results aren't a surprise.

As others have been saying it's WAY too early to say that you won't have a 10 second pass with a basically stock ZL1. It will just take more people actually receiving their ZL1s and running them in the mineshaft air that people get in certain parts of the US where they set all of the records with big negative DA.

Wish Tampa was one of those areas

Hope to be up to 350 miles on mine today... I am being a good boy for the most part and keeping it in check, but it is tempting to want to see what it will do.
