What if your windshield needs defrosting before you drive off?....I guess you could drive with your head sticking out the driver's window to avoid idling until the defroster warms up enough to see out the windshield....Heaven forbid you do any cold idling....lol...

My car is garaged so I don't have this issue.

Not on purpose, I remote start 75% of the time to either get the AC/heat going since our weather is unpredictable.

I rarely do remote start, I love triggering that roar with a press of my finger

Yes for only a couple of mins at the most. Normally when it idles down I back out of the carport and drive easy for a mile or so especially in cold weather.

I Drive Mine off under light throttle, I live on a Country Road and don't have to hurry to get up to speed. I know that some on here may live on a Highway or in the City and have get up to speed quickly. No harm,as long as it is done carefully.

Ah, you let the engine idle down before you take off?

Well that's not warming up, and that's what you are supposed to do. Doing that is also good for the transmission.
