I sent my renewal in earlier this month for a year at $99.00. Got a renewal notice in the mail back in the early part of March. I think my subscription is up by Apr 23rd so I will see if my service is interrupted.

i dont know why people think the quality is bad. you do have to adjust your settings for it. some cars have more settings to adjust XM. it's better quality then radio and better than 128bit mp3s. has always sounded fine in everything iv had.

Yup as others said let it run out. You'll have to deal with normal radio for a bit or Spotify, etc. Then they will start sending you these I want you back offers. The cost of the premium subscription is such a rip off at $20 a month and all I listen to is one or two stations. I wish they would offer customized packages. I don't feel I should have to pay for crap I don't want. But I guess that's life, and similar to cable.

I always say I want to cancel and I get transferred to a retention person who offers a deal that's about 1/2 price.

I actually use Spotify almost exclusively, but my wife likes the XM. She has a 2012 Infiniti G37X Coupe. Nice car but Absolutely no feedback or control when you use pandora, Spotify or even Itunes on the touchscreen. For a "Higher end" Car the electronics are total crap.

Here is how my typical conversation with SiriusXM goes when I call them to renew...

Me: Hello, I'm calling to cancel my subscription.
SiriusXM agent in Manilla, Philippines: I'm sorry to hear that, well we have a deal right now, 12 months for $120.
Me: Nah, that's too much.
SiriusXM: We can also offer 6 months for $50 dollars.
Me: No, still too much. I only listen to two channels, not worth it.
SiriusXM: Okay sir, the only other deal we have is for 3 months at $(whatever figure they throw at me)
Me: No, that won't work for me.
SiriusXM: Let me put you on hold so we can go ahead and cancel.
Me: Sure, thank you.

5 to 10 seconds later

SiriusXM: Well sir we do have our promotional rate for 5 months at $30.
Me: Sign me up.

A couple of rules to go by...
1. ALWAYS call on or around the day your subscriptions is set to renew/expire
2. ALWAYS have them send you the bill and pay by check, NEVER give them your credit card so they can't charge you the next renewal
3. Set your phone with a calendar reminder for the next 5 months to again call and 'cancel', otherwise they will renew you at $45 for 3 months

Just repeat the same process, it's the same song and dance. I've done it for 3 years now, at this point I find joy in calling them. SiriusXM not giving you the best deal is them losing money. It costs them nothing to keep SiriusXM specifically in YOUR car. The hardware is already installed, the satellites are already orbiting earth, all they have to do is bill you. And they will ALWAYS give you the lowest rate.

I get renewel deals all the time from them. I'm not sure if they realize that google music is free, gives me the option of playing what i want or a selection of any random assortment related to any album or artist i choose and comes with my phone which is on me all the time and connects to my car.

Meh. they can keep their 60% off retail price for a subscription.

If you tell them u will not renew they will throw an offer at you. Don't take it, wait for the better second offer. As others have mentioned, you can get them to give it to you for $30 or $35 dollars for a 6 months of service. The only pain is as 6 months nears you will need to repeat the process.
