The one in TN has $4,500 worth of rebates and the one in Charlotte has $2,500 worth
If City won't come more than 2500 off msrp I would keep looking, just me personally. At the end of the day if you get what you want and you think it's a fair price then it's worth it. Keep in mind someone will always pay more than you and someone will always pay less than you.

Point being, there might be some missed by prospective buyers, if the dealer didn't do a good job of advertising it.

That being said, I think they'll sell out, if people can find them, before the 20% sales get here.
Hint, search for 1SS cars with Manuals, that narrows it down very quickly.

Search on Chevrolet.com is horrible.
I just tried Coupe/1SS/V8/6MT Krypton Green and on my list I see automatcs and colors are all over. Useless!

I remember when I found mine the dealer didn't even have it advertised outside of their website, and the listing picture on their website was of an SS non-1LE.

^^^This, Most of the salesmen don't even know what a 1LE is. The place I went to had 3 of them in the overflow lot hidden behind other cars.

Well City tried to "red tag" the car for me but they said they "couldn't because its a 1LE" so I told the salesman that its an SS with a 1LE package on it and that they could tag it as a 1SS. They're slowly coming down on price but they still won't move off of MSRP. Car is listed at $46,965. They have $2500 in rebates plus the GM student discount gives me an extra $2000. They bumped up my trade in $1500 but still won't move for me. NADA says MSRP is $46,965 with invoice at $44,669. Anyone have any insight or opinions?

That's a bold-faced lie. I work at a dealership that has red tagged 1LE's before - currently using Super Bonus Tags; some of these in the past were percentage of MSRP like the past month and now it is a fixed number. The real reason is because they're a limited item compared to the majority of Camaros and they're trying to keep them priced relatively higher. If you purchase at other dealerships that aren't local just be sure they know your zip code because there is a consumer cash rebate that is specific to the dealer's immediate area and an online price may not be accurate. It's a regional rebate from GM. Reason dealers do this is because the cars are priced to the immediate market. I recommend you look outside of your immediate area because even if you don't qualify for the consumer cash, you may be able to find a better deal regardless.

I am speaking with a dealer in another state who has $1500 more rebates than the current dealer I'm trying to deal with. It's about 5 hours away but if they work with me more than I'll go there. I'm just impatient. And the salesman from the one here in Charlotte is continuing to tell me that the 1LE isn't able to be tagged

The dealership where I bought my 1LE told me yesterday that at least a half dozen dealers tried to get their 1LE before I bought it. And it hadn't even been delivered yet. They were unwilling to let it go because they said it makes it harder to get future 1LE'S if you let the ones you get go to another dealer to be sold. They only got 2, one of them was a the 6cycl version. They put in for another one, but don't know whether or not they'll get it.

So dealers/sales manager can "red tag/bonus tag" a car and see if the system will accept or reject that sale price? For example, no advertised sale tag event but my dealer and salesman can try to get a "tag" price?

Thanks for explaining!

Dealers typically won't openly advertise a Bonus Tag reload. Usually you'll see it on Chevrolets website where they normally advertise "Find Your Tag and Get X Money." They usually tell sales people so if someone is slightly off on numbers they can tag a vehicle in the future. There's a limited window that a GSM/GM can Tag cars after a reload or else they get locked into the system.

There is some truth to that statement.
