Because the engineers that designed the car did not put it the A10 in it. The A10 is their current golden child. If it met their requirements, it would have been in the car. The Z06 has the A8, and look how it turned out. I'm sure Team Camaro is avoiding that path as much as possible.

It's too bad that semi-automatic transmissions are too expensive. They would most like flip the bill for weight and overheat issues as well, but definitively drive the car price way higher.

Again, if I bought that particular 1LE designated track car, mine would have been manual if optioned. Heck, my current ZL1 was a 50/50 decision itself. The OP & others curious like myself should be satisfied with the responses I would imagine...just a lot of static to get there.
