ZL1 specific - Spare

I have searched this forum and posted as a last resort. I am looking for a spare for the ZL1 and obviously it has to fit the big brakes up front. So I was thinking buy one for the front and hope it will fit the back. I don't know the offset as I am a rookie ZL1 owner.

Suggestions for tire and wheel combo?

And why would anyone want a spare tire in 2017?

I've always said the same. That's what a cell phone is for but a week ago we had to pull a wheel/tire off of someone's Camaro and take it to a friend who hit something in the road and was stuck an hour away in the middle of nowhere. Would have been great to have this handy and save him having to bring us the borrowed tire back but I would never carry in my trunk.

I've encountered that in years past, a valid point.

Does OnStar still function if there is no cell service?
My last GM vehicle was 20 years ago.

How would one even fit a spare in the car? Is the opening in the trunk big enough? Even with the spare, how would you fit one of the front or one of the rears in the trunk or passenger compartment?

Just get an OEM 6th or 5th gen front wheel and tire as a spare. Not as compact as a true spare but you can run it on either the front or back to clear the brakes and this will get you where you need to be. Yes the offset and tire size may vary but not enough to cause you any problems.
Has anyone really tried to buy a tire for their SS let alone a ZL1 while on the road? Not happening around my area!
This is what I have done on my lat 5th gen and also a Regal GS that I have with the Brembo brakes.

Here is what I saw and vet757 said also, but this is for the SS, so the trunk space is not the issue. I was hoping it fit the bolt pattern.

Looks like a phone call is in order

Thanks for your help

Carrying a spare in the ZL1 doesn't seem feasible at all. First I would think the trunk opening would be an issue. Next, since the main reasoning is concerning trips, if the spare does squeeze in there definitely won't be room for much else.

I have a whole HUGE back seat for clothes and things. But, think about it. It is midnight in Ozark Mountains going back to the cabin on the White River after a night out and no phone call, no OnStar is going to help me then and there. I am not going to spend the night with my sweetheart in the ZL1 on the side of the road, if I can help it.
