M6 Launch on the Dragstrip

M6 is a serious bone stock launch challenge. Tires support a 1.8 on auto cars. Does anyone have some ideas? I can get a 2.0 but it leaves like there is way, way, more in the launch.

I am not a 1/4 mile track guy, but I do have some general info about racing. But I have no idea what you are talking about. Perhaps a little more info.....

I have yet to get to the track but what I'm reading from the guys in the 1/4 drag threads. They r not having luck using any LC at launch. They are saying turn it all off. Even reading over in the Z06 Corvette forums guys with (M7) all are having to feather clutch or roll throttle till hooks, then get into it. Of course quick shifts are a must, as u know. It truly must be a challenge looking at the posts about it from the experienced guys. I know this isn't the answer you wanted but keep trying different things and posting your results and we'll all try to figure it out together. Good luck.

If that was the question here I would tend to agree from an M6 perspective. I didn't get time to try it at all without LC, but I can tell you that wasn't ever able to get the LC dialed in properly to be effective.

In the Z06, the LC problem is that the manual holds at about 4000 rpm and the A8 at a bit over 2000. In LC the A8 just squats and goes with a minimum of wheel spin. In the M7 there is quite a lot of wheel spin. The Corvette Owners School had an interesting demonstration of each one while we were there. It does appear that most of the Y body guys drag racing manuals are not using LC.

He's referring to his 60 ft times at the track.
