LT4 concerns.......
A shop in houston had a stock car come in with some issues (think it was a zl1) and took apart the motor and found a huge chunk of the skirt of the piston broke off and 2 others cracked. Diagnoses, three of the oil squirt tubes were lower than the others and were nipping the pistons...... ill add photos in a second, but apparently this is not the first case of the lt4s having this issue..... anyone else hear about this??

Question; Why would a shop in Houston be working on a new LT4 (if ZL1) and not warrantee with the dealer??
I'm not asking you to speculate, unless you know the specifics...just curious. I'm most certainly not calling you out, just raised a flag is all. |

Obviously work was being done to it. Prolly why it failed.

I have almost 3,000 miles (daily driver) on my '17 ZL1 M6 with zero problems! The only problems I've even heard of concerning the LT4's (Z06) is overheating/limp mode but haven't heard anything about pistons breaking.
