Perfect solution. I will go with voluptuous when I explain it to her though, just to be safe

If you have a "girthy" passenger is the reason to have a cup holder in a seat back organizer.

Thanks for the link! That is what I need!

To the OP, I also have no problems with the center console. My only complaint is that I sometimes accidentally change the driving mode or switch off traction control. One would think that GM would consider different placement of those buttons for those of us whose arms will be on the center console more frequently.

THIS! I hate how I can barely fit anything in the back cup holder. It's so small.
But I've never had a problem with the cup holders and shifting even with my 30oz rtic cup in it.

I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue and if there is a solution out there. I'd be okay with covering the cupholders with a modification.
Can you insert a short extension on the shift lever, enough to get the knob and your arm up a little higher? Shift throw would increase slightly.

I run into the same situation on my wife's Subaru, but it hasn't bothered me badly enough to make me do anything about it yet.

I've never had an issue with this. I don't ever have any drinks in the car so the cup holders are next to useless for me. Only thing they do is keep my phone in one spot.

Cup holder is a perfect cubby-hole for my small stuffed Siberian Husky to hang out and enjoy the ride
