Nav. Map Update form in the mail

Received mine today...upgrade my existing for only $139.99. A $20 savings off the regular price.

Ouch! Pretty pricey if you ask me...don't know if I am willing to take the plunge.

Thoughts?

I got the same letter in the mail yesterday too. I was very surprised that we have to pay for a computer update. Seems to me this should be updated by the dealer as a normal service? I mean, I don't pay for Google maps updates on my phone. It's a normal software update that gets pushed through every so often. And I agree that it seems like a very pricey update!

No way! That's ridiculous. Especially when Google maps works fantastic. Lol

might consider doing the update after 3 or 5 years or prior to a cross country adventure. a 1 year update at that price seems wasteful; no bang for the buck. How many new roads and points of interest could have been added in the areas we drive in 1 year?

I agree w/you.
I'll upgrade in a few...not now.
I run Waze/Maps daily for all my needs.
Chevy's pricey update needs some serious re-thinking for my $$$ for now...

they are smoking crack. I can buy a new GPS with lifetime updates for that. + you can just use Google maps for free and it's better.

Haven't received anything in mail, but I shelled for the update only because a major road in my area (I-485) was not showing as completed on the existing software, and I run that route regularly especially when going the SCCA events and I need to track my ETA.
