The cut line on the rocker panel. On the 5th gen, the cut line was in a more logical place just above the bottom of the door. On the the 6th gen, the cut line goes up nearly halfway on the quarter panel. The eye is drawn to the cutline, just like the gas lid door, and makes it look awkward. The rear quarter window shape. The shape reminds me of the '71-73 fastback Mustang. Many here probably don't know what they look like, but if you saw one you'd instantly know what I'm talking about. The rear deck lid and bumper. There are a lot of interesting elements going on with the front end of the car, but it seems the designers fell asleep when they did the back end. I think this is where the "it looks like an import" comments come from. The hood. They strayed away from the traditional cowl-type hood and went into a totally new direction. The problem is that it looks too damn rounded from the driver's seat and the nostril scoops do not do it any favors. I think if they retained some type of cowl hood design, maybe similar to the new ZL1, it would have immensely benefited the look of the car especially from the driving position. The 5th gen may be a little dated, but the hood line is by far one the best of all Camaros except for maybe the 5th gen ZL1 or a '69 Z28. Interior...... The driver's binnacle on the 6th gen is too tall giving the illusion that the car is much smaller inside than it really is. And, to had insult to injury, they sloped down the dash towards the passenger side furthering that effect. If you you take a look at an early Ford Maverick instrument panel, you will see a lot of similarities in design, some almost identical. lol! Overall, the styling does not match the instant hit that the 5th gen was. After all, how can you improve on a heritage design without going to the next logical conclusion? That for me, would be the 2nd gen F-body with one piece side windows and an even longer hood and shorter rear deck design. I think if GM did a retro 2nd gen design for the 6th gen, it would have been another smash hit like the 5th gen. However, they decided to play it safe this time, perhaps too safe IMO. Nice cars in the pic! |

I've owned 2SS's in both and while I can say the 6th gen is without a doubt the better car in every single aspect, I feel like the 5th gen is more "muscle" looking. I miss it sometimes even though it was slower, heavier, and had a pretty crappy interior.

I hate the refreshed 5th Gen tail lights. One of the worst. Also when I first saw a 6th Gen LT from a distance I thought that was a 2016 Malibu (from the taillights).
And when I saw a 2SS with the rear spoiler that then looked like a badass Camaro. |

IMO the 6 Gen is much better than the 2010 Gen 5 SS that I owned. I agree the Gen 5 was more musclecar looking and that LS3 was a real good motor despite valve springs issues and other things. It weighed a little more and the interior was not as nice either. I did like the bigger interior size though but have gotten used to everything in my '16 and really enjoy it. Sometimes I do miss my modded '10 SS with the LS3 though but realize my '16 is a way much better Camaro than the '10 was!

Liked the banter back and forth. I have both a C5 2011 Vert and a C6 2016 Vert. When I first saw the C5 back in Nov. of 2009 I really liked what Chevy had done to with it. Had to wait for the Vert so didn't purchase one until the end of 2011. Enjoyed it a lot. But when the C6 came out and I saw the vert in person at CamaroFest I feel in love with the car and finally got, we think, the first vert in TN, March 2016.
I've had it for over a year and love it even more then when I first saw it. I enjoy driving it every day and it's a blast to drive. The compliments I get when people see it is just a bonus. So I agree with most that it C6 is better then C5.IMHO
