On the fence

Have a 2017 2SS 50th Anniversary. Want to put Kooks LT on but due to no tunes able to crack the ecm codes in the 2017 yet, i do not want a CEL light or loose/restrick power gains after install due to not being able to tune. Grrrr

2017's have been tune-able for quite a while now.

I have a 2017 1LE. I performed a baseline dyno at 1600 miles where the car did an impressive 416 rwhp and 417 rwtq bone stock. I've since added a rotofab cold air intake and will be installing kooks longtube headers with high flow cats and then the borla catback ATAK exhaust with the borla NPP setup.

We will do a dyno run before the installation to see if there were any gains just with the rotofab and then again after the headers and exhaust install before we tune it and then again after the tune. I have no idea what gain I'll achieve but excited to find out. I'll post the dyno sheet after we are done and I'm back home. The install is scheduled for this Friday, Sept. 16th.

Any guesses to what it will gain?

Cam, heads and intake will be planned for the spring.

So I installed KOOKs 2 inch primary tube off road headers, full catback race exhaust, CAI. With no tune I have 429hp to wheel ad 426tq .

I am waiting for DSX to get back to me on when the Hoses for their E85 kit to come back in stock so I can do a tune on E85, and those numbers are without a tune, friends stock 1LE got 417hp and 415 torque.

We were told the dyno was "being greedy" that day we got them on the dyno

Wow, good to know... my kooks arrive on Wednesday however i didnt know you could install them and run the car without a tune.... i knew about the check engine lighht... but i thought an issue would come up if not tuned.... im getting a maggie in a couple of months but didnt want to wait till then to install the headers but also dont want to pay double tunes, if in a couple of months ill be tunning for the supercharger....

Anything bad if i run without a tune for two months?

Not sure where you are located in NY, but if you are in reasonable proximity to Waterbury, CT, I would go see Ted:http://www.jannettyracing.com/

Well other than possibly blowing the motor up depending on how hard you drive, nothing at all.

That and you could possibly have several codes in regards to the rear O2 sensors as well and then would have to stare at the check engine light until you get it tuned.

UG... quoted wrong post.... quote removed.

This is exactly how I ended up with my Whipple. I had ordered headers and Blackheart exhaust and the shipping window kept coming and going... and it dawned on me that I was spending close to $3Gs for like maybe 25HPish and sound and I could instead have 150HP tossing a charger on the motor for another several Gs.... decided to go with the latter plan.

@OP I'm doing these changes you did next spring. Thanks for sharing nice numbers.
