Guess I got lucky, I use the a/c 90% of the time, and we have had many days well into the 80's since, including humidity (FL), and I have yet to have any fogging issues...not complaining, glad lol...

I havent had this issue yet maybe because im in a low humidity climate but i know rain x makes an anti fogging solution just curious if any one has tried this yet to try and solve the issue

Guys this isn't unique to the Camaro. Living in Chicago where the humidity is stupid on most days I've had this issue on every car I've owned. On the drive into work a few days ago when it was actually warm here I had the exact same issue with my Toyota toaster (err Camry). Turning the AC on for a minute does away with the issue.

I haven't tried it in the Camaro yet but I don't see why it would be different than every other car I've owned.

I just had this issue recently on a really warm humid day due to it raining. My hunch is that the blend door is not fully closing for some reason allowing some air to bleed up past the defrost vents and onto the windshield.

I wonder if a simple calibration flash would fix this?

Not that it really matters, unless youre hosting something anyway; any half decent sys admin will make sure to ACL any external connection away from your gooey center, even without syn flood detection. As long as your system isn't set to fail open...

Syn floods aren't intended to get to the center.

My window started fogging bad the other morning, turned on the front defogger.....went away in about 10 seconds....

We are seeing this when we run the AC though, not from the defroster. The AC is blowing cold air up thru the defroster vents onto the windshield, those spots get cold and then condensate on the windshield.

That isn't normal and shouldn't happen. I have owned 10+ new GM vehicles, my last 3 have all had some of the weirdest HVAC programming I have ever seen. Case in point...

On my 2017 1LE. It was cold out yesterday morning (40° outside). I turn the temperature control to 74° and a comfortable amount of heat comes out of the system to my liking. Yesterday as I get off work it is 65° outside, I want the windows down but it is a little chilly so I want some heat as well. Well now that same 74° on the HVAC wont produce any heat. I had to ramp it up to 83° in order to get any heat out of the system.

This is the 4th time I have seen where if it is cold outside I can get heat around 73° on the system, but if it is warm outside I have to go above 80° in order to get any heat from the system.

My tahoe does the same with the temp control. (BTW, since I have a registered chevy tahoe, that was another $1k discount on the new camaro...thought I'd share that)

I thought when the front defroster button is pushed, the AC comes on?

I push it...window clears, then I turn it off...haven't been driving it long enough to see the issues you are describing yet, but that rolled up towel looks like a quick fix.

From an engineering/physics perspective, the angle of the window and the tight quarters under the dash are probably very prohibitive on what can be accomplished regarding this issue....IE...do you want condensate, or less flow and half the window staying fogged? I am sure there are many variables we aren't even able to consider. My 6.2 looks to tuck under there quite well also.

We bought the Camaro as a weekend/fun/getaway vehicle....not a daily driver. I have owned many rides, including a corvette, so we knew it would be limited in some regards, but altogether....the camaro is an awesome car!

Been having this problem (New Orleans, LA). Took it to the dealership. Told them that they needed to log the problem and send to GM, but that they probably wouldn't find a "fix".

However, they did run some tests on the car. Found out that the actuator motor that turns the dampers for the defrost are working properly. They even reset them and sent voltage to them independently of the A/C controls. Still happened.

They tried a few other things, none of which worked. Their conclusion (like ours) is that the dampers simply aren't sealing the airway closed. Without removing lots of parts, there's no way to find out. But, they did send the problem up the chain, to be combined with all of yours.

On another note - how the heck do you put any kind of "coating" on the windshield to prevent this? The fog is on the outside, not the inside. You mean that you put something on the outside of the windshield? How does it stay on past that first rainstorm and 500+ windshield wiper passes?

At least your dealer looked at yours. The service manager at mine just said that it is normal
