So as you can see there is two areas where oil is showing: on top and bottom and a clear zone in the middle... WTF?

Wipe it off and do it again until you can get an accurate read.

Lots of thread up on reading the dipstick on these, especially when the manual says to check when getting gas. That doesn't work for me at least as it will show low.
For me, mine has to sit for ~20 minutes or longer, as the oil apparently is very slow to drain back down into the pan. So I check mine before the first start up of the day when doing my weekly checks. |

The dipstick is not calibrated for a cold check, it is calibrated for a warm check, so you will not get accurate figures by checking it in the morning. Do what the manual says and it that will be your most accurate view of your oil level.

Regardless to when you check the oil, it almost seems like there is something on the middle section of your dipstick that is repelling the oil. I would try cleaning it off well and letting it dry before putting it back in so you don't contaminate the oil with whatever you use to clean it with.

Bottom line is that if you are that concerned the only way to actually verify what you have in it is to drain and re-service it. You didn't say, was it just serviced? These dipsticks are not designed for accuracy but more so to just let you know you have a sufficient amount of oil to run the engine with little or no concern.

My manual says on p 247:
1. If the engine has been running recently, turn off the engine and allow several minutes for the oil to drain back into the oil pan. Checking the oil level too soon after engine shutoff will not provide an accurate oil level reading. So try the following!: Pull the dipstick after one hour from turning off the engine , wipe reinsert and turn 360 degrees..... Pull it out read it. Tell us what it says. I personally like the level middle of the hashmarks. |

It wasn't meant as harshly as it may have come across, but you did ask the same question after it had already been answered once already. Anyway, sorry if I caused offense.
