So I went back out to the wife's car and turned the multimeter to HZ and with the seats in the off position the HZ reading is about 3hz or so across red/blue/black wires. When switching the seat to full speed, the red/black stay the same but the blue wire goes to ~102hz

So either that is the speed of the fan, or its the PWM signal maybe? I'm pretty sure this is the PWM signal after looking at computer fan forums

Holy chit! I hadn't clicked on this thread until it kept popping up as the top thread. Thought it was just some newbie asking if we had the heat and cooling feature!

Sweet.

Count us in for the upgrade/mod.

Assume this applies to all cars produced to date? No start date? Think the thought line about same as a 2LT makes allot of sense.

Axles are different though, correct?

it uses a FD100 fg frequency generator to send a signal to the fan. It's has constant power and ground. It works sort of like a PM fan on a computer. In our cars the frequency comes from the CAN network. It's a verying voltage based on the signal controlled by the switch.
Very simple to duplicate. Only issue is no wire diagram to give me the CAN network signals. I'm going to call GM dealer in morning and see if I can get a diagram and possible pin out for the climate control. My best guess would be wire into the signal coming from the blower. I'm going to install the entire dual setup, so I'm in this for a bit more. I have already done this, going from 4inch to 8inch screen in my 15 mustang using all Ford parts. Takes a bit, but in the end it's factory.
For those just wanting the fans to work. Try using a Halls effects sensor

Good luck. Let us know what is needed and take some pics of the installation process!

PG 7(PDF PG 8) shows some wiring information.
http://www.delta-fan.com/Download/Sp...712HH-AF00.pdf

It also cautions to not to let the blue wire touch the Red or Black wires. (Positive or negative)

We are going to need someone with electrical knowledge to chime in.
The PWM signal frequency generator ("FG") to feed the square wave speed signal to the blue wire on the fan is described in that doc as well (page 7). Just need to come up with the right resistor and transistor(s) to meet the rpm spec(s) [square wave frequency].

Also noticed in researching this that a single speed (2 wire) version of this same blower "frame" is available for like $15. Maybe an easier fix than the complexity of a multi-speed PWM driver.

If we can assume that GM gave him the correct part numbers for his VIN, then no more speculation.

Two wire will work. Sunday I'll run a old cool master fan controller I have for you guys and see if it works. It would be an all in one solution. On/off and 3 speeds. No different than wiring a CPU fan up with out a MB.

I have the seat harness and cluster on order already. It will be a few weeks after this weekend before a can play with it. By then I hope to have diagrams.

So if you go onto the Build and Price area on Chevy's website for the 2SS, it shows Recaro seats as an option that you can buy.

This leads me to believe that it's plug and play for the 2SS and retains the heating/cooling features.

So yes you can manually wire a switch if you so wanted.

Picture of the connector under my passenger seat, maybe can compare to a 2ss (Put seat as foward and high as it can go, slide the red tab back and pull on the end it should pop off)

I wonder if it's as easy as getting the AC Controls from a 2ss

[]
I wonder if the 2 wider spade pins (just to the right of center on the passenger connector shown) are higher amp...maybe the heater leads?

2 wire would be so much easier, just on and off and run a 2 pole switch.

Is this the one you were talking about? https://www.digikey.com/product-deta...177-ND/1993169

I might just buy 2 and do it that way. If someone comes up with a OEM type solution I can always throw the factory fans back in.

I also found the 2LT/2SS HVAC controls in a junkyard for under $90, waiting to hear back from them on shipping.
