Anything wrong with Vortech?

Seems Procharger is what most get, but what's wrong with Vortech?

I'm not looking to do anything crazy, but would like to get a good quality system to give me ~600 to the wheels at ~8psi.

RMCR in Colorado Springs does Vortech and they state to me:

"We have done several LT1's in the C7 platform. They will make around 600rwhp with 8 lbs of boost with our tune in it using a Vortech Supercharger. This is a very safe boost level and very safe tune.

We are a top tier installer for Vortech and have been a vendor for them for over 18 years.

We will need the car for 3 days to do the install."

Anyway's just curious if there is any drastic reason why I should choose a Procharger over Vortech.

You're not going to safely make 600whp with any kit. LT1 fuel system taps out at about 570ish (sort of aggressive tune and dependent on octane) unless you got very lucky and got some happy low and high pumps. Even then you'd be above the norm.

Nothing wrong with vortech, boost is boost. Just a slight variance in technology.

I'd take anything that sounds like a sales tactic as just that.

He's in Denver at a mile high. Pretty sure they mean 600hp equivalent at sea level. If that is the case the fuel system is fine.

I'll let the other mountain peeps chime in, but as far as I know that 570whp number is at sea level. I may be wrong. Not an expert by any measure. I just know what my car did on the dyno with a similar system and more boost

I didn't word that well. 600hp at sea level is 500hp in Denver. The stock fuel system will be fine for 500hp (estimated as 600 hp at sea level).

I don't think this was his intent when saying they make 600HP. I'll have to get clarification.

I seriously doubt he was talking actual horsepower. He was talking corrected in my opinion, which is inflated over true hp quite a bit up where you are. Find a dyno sheet up there and look for CF= or something about correction and you'll see. Example, CF=1.17 would mean the number is inflated 17% over the actual horsepower the car made.

Vortech for this Gen6 is still "NEW". No real data. Tests etc.
Procharger was in the game from the start. Grabbed all the attention and most importantly kept that attention.

It is up to the other game players to make some waves and put out a product that can take some of that attention away.
Gonna be tough.

I was at the Borla/Cunningham Motorsports day Saturday and the Borla car was making over 600 wheel on a Mustang dyno with a Vortech. I know it had a full exhaust, a tune and I think E85. Not sure what else. I don't think the bottom end was built.

I'm going vortech w / tune, i'll start there and see if i need / want more. If so, i'd go meth, maybe larger head unit, and at that point possibly have to build bottom end depending on power. But i'll start with this and a tune.

Probably a month out before its done though.

Wrong theory about what to add "next" Fuel pumps and injectors then step up from there.. FUEL system should always be the first thing someone adds to a build.

As for the Vortech you'll be happy with it unless you want to make BIG power 800+hp.
