More,

I can tell you are someone to ask about the steering feel compared to your GT3. How do you feel the ZL1 compares?

Mike.

Mike.
So I feel the old hydraulic steering set up in the GT3's was a benchmark. With less weight overall for the car and less weight on the front end, I never felt anything better. As an occasional instructor, I have driven a lot of performance cars. That era of GT3 just communicated better. You could feel everything.

That said, even the new Porsches from 2012 on have electric power steering. They have been getting better at engineering some feel back into the electric power steering, but they don't quite match up to the benchmark.

The ZL1's electric power steering feels just as good as the Porsche's current set ups. However, you do have to manage roughly a 1/4th more weight in the ZL1. Still, I like the ZL1 package better with the extra horse power, etc...

So ZL1 steering feel is equal to Porsche's current crop of cars, I feel.
Steering feel is bit less from the pre 2012's Porsches, but I feel most modern cars with electric power steering have a bit less feel as well.

Right on brother! Welcome to the cool-guy/gal-club

I'm actually thinking of buying a C5 Z06 for dedicated track use. Gotta keep the ZL1 in great shape so splitting the track time with it's little brother will help.
