That is the question...

To be crass, I don't mind a little fore play before the main event. Waiting a little bit on a $60K to $70K expenditure, seems worth it to me and makes getting the car more of an occasion. Of course, I still respect those that prefer premature acceleration.
Premature acceleration....lol

Spilled my coffee on that one.

Just guidelines... just drive cool vary speeds and take it easy in the beginning. I can't keep mine under 80 either.

There was another thread on here stating that gm would void your warranty if you don't follow break in. Sigh. So much misinformation and fear mongering on the internet it's ridiculous.

Edit: I also think there's a big difference between GM stating that "if you blow your motor on track prior to 1500 you're on your own", and them stating "if you dont follow break in you void your warranty."

Al, is a technical sales guy. Keep that in mind. He's also the guy that said the 8A would blow the pdk out of the water. He's a hype maker.
You were the one asking the guy for proof... not me. And I guess from your edit you actually went back and read what I wrote.

Lawyers and marketing don't just make this stuff up no matter who puts the pen to the paper. It's just a number/line in the sand. Call it nonsense if you want but I choose to break my car in like the hype maker says and not a someone off the internet.

And I do the same. For the same reasons.

I am the one you are referring to, I said they voided a warranty for a catch can and there is a thread about it. Al O stated they can tell if you install a cai. If they can tell that I am guessing they can program the car to record certain events. And although at the start of the break in it states recommended but under individual it says do not. Could be legalese. The point is to let people know what gm recommends and make an educated decision. Judge: says here you violated GM s break in recommendation 223 times. How can I hold them responsible when they warned you and provided reccomendations that you chose not to follow?

What is this break in you speak of?

I had my car on the dyno with 250 miles.
