Infant car seats *UPDATE on original post

What fits!? Will be our 1st child so we're trying to figure everything out still. I've measured the rear seat and can't really find anything as of yet (maybe I measured wrong?) So what do/have y'all used that worked? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wife and I carpool, so can't have the wife take the baby. She has an FJ cruiser, so while yes I know it's better, can't give up driving the camaro without at least first trying. I've looked here a bit, but no specifics that fit...just brands mentioned

UPDATE*** Welp 6 weeks after birth and the wife is back at work. Used the camaro and as expected it's not the most convienent, it's not all that bad. I crawl in back and the wife hands her to me then I just buckle her in the car seat. Ended up with the Britax boulavard and it can fit behind the passenger seat with room to sit still.

I see a Chevrolet SS in your future
Front facing child seat not a problem (don't forget to take off their shoes , so you won't get any marks on the back of the passenger seat).

All kidding aside, you might be able to fit an infant seat, however you will not be able to use the passenger seat since it will have to be all the way forward.

Just one kid? ummm, oh for infant, you will be hard pressed I hate to say, on finding a rear facing that will fit - You may have luck if your wife is petite and can move the seat all the way forward and tilt seatback forward as well.

I have a 4 year old, and have had two different Britax forward facing seats in the back of my 1LE, no problems - but rear facing and then getting it in and out all the time (as you do with an infant) is going to suck just a little. Best to go to Toys R Us and see if they'll let you take a few of the display ones out to see what fits.

Britax has a two pack of kick mats https://www.amazon.com/Britax-Back-f...ick+mat+2+pack
- have one on the 1LE, works fine. Now if i can get him to quit picking his nose and touching the glass

Have been battling with this for sometime now. Have my first one coming in September. Planning on going to Toys R Us and trying out a few rear facing seats.

The other day a cop pulled over my wife and when she realized she's pregnant the cop told her "You should be careful while getting an infant in this car". Fingers crossed hope the seats fit!

Thanks for the replies! Yeah, I know it's not gunna be fun to do for a DD, but the drive to/from work makes the day berter in the camaro. Once we find some possibilities the plan is to hit up some stores for some test fits. We're due mid July, so trying to get things wrapped up to be ready

I have a 3.5 year old and a 1.5 year old. I don't DD with the kids but I sometimes do need to take both somewhere in it. My oldest front faces (passenger side) and youngest rear faces (drivers side). I do this because I just leave the base for the rear facing seat behind the drivers seat so I retain full range of adjustment when the car seat isn't in the car.

I'm 6'0 and wife is 5'0. With all 4 of us it fits well enough for short trips. Both of us have our seats nearly all of the way forward and it's not super comfortable for the adults, but the kids seem okay with it.

If I had to DD with both kids I may not have bought a camaro. It's really less about fitting while driving and more about how painful it is to get kids and cars seats into and out of the car. Trying to fit my 25 lb daughter plus car seat into the backseat base station can truly be a nightmare sometimes, and if I had to do it twice a day....

Check out "car seats for the littles" on facebook. They have people that will tell you absolutely every car seat that will fit in your car.

From what we've found so far our choices are convertible seats, either Britax or Chicco (based on size, safety). I saw a post here showing a Britax fitting behind the passenger seat. Anybody have expierences with these?

Front facing for toddlers?

Yes - i have a Britax Frontier, fits good. When he's bigger it converts to a booster by removing the harness apparatus.

I have another Britax, I think it's just a forward facing harness, does not convert, and it also fits.

We use a Parkway for 4 yr. old, fits easily behind either seat, he is tight if behind driver's seat, but it can work for now. 4 mo. old is a different story, if I use the base with the B-Safe 35 Elite, I can't drive remotely comfortably, just puts me too far forward. If I use the belt and position behind passenger seat, it can work for my wife, but no way I would do it every day, would definitely go SS Sedan and have Livernois tune it up for me.

we have the peg perego primo viagio: https://us.pegperego.com/baby/primo-viaggio-4-35; and it fits just fine rear facing on the passenger side without the base, I have never tried it with the base, but i'm sure it would fit just fine with the base as well, without the base is actually safer apparently. Also, my wife is 5'9" and she fits in the front seat with the baby seat in back of her. It's a little cramped for her but ok for short trips. here's a pic:
