Ceramic Coating?

What have you tried and what were your results? Im considering ceramic coating but Ive never used it before. The youtube video of the hyper blue ZL1 getting 10 coats of ceramic is pretty amazing.

I used Cquartz applied it myself, the stuff in amazing.

Is it a difficult task? There is a detail shop here in OKC that does CQuartz, Ive been thinking about taking it to him.

If you have detailed before then it's not to difficult. There are several Youtube videos on the net that might help you make the decision to DIY. Just remember make sure you prep the paint so that it's scratch and swirl free before applying the coating. Also make sure you have a garage that has very good lighting, this is critical to insure you don't miss spots and you remove it completely once ready to be removed or you'll have streaking.

Mine is scheduled to go to the Detailer the first weekend in May. Having CQuartz Finest done. I don't know enough about "paint correction", and application, so leaving it to a professional to do..... Plus he's a good friend of mine so I got a pretty decent deal.......

I don't know much about prepping paint and so forth, Id probably have the detail shop do it. But you like the results? It looks like it adds incredible shine..

Im in the same boat, Id probably end up having to take it in and have them fix what I tried to do lol

I took my ZL1 right from the dealer to the Xpel, Ceramic Coating, Tint guy. All three are being done now. Should have the car back early this week.

45% tint since I wanted subtle and didn't want tracks not letting me on. Xpel on entire front and rockers. Ceramic 9H over everything.

My car has paint protection film over the rock chip prone areas including the entire hood, front fenders and CF insert covered with two layers of Kamikaze Miyabi ceramic coating.

Here's a "how to" video on the proper way to apply the Miyabi.

Check out Finishline Auto Cosmetics in N OKC. He does all the top end cars around here. Look at his Facebook or Instagram page. He did my Mosaic Black 2017 ZL1 and it looks great.

I am having mine done the week of 4/3. I was originally going to do Ceramic coating over Xpel on Black W/CF hood insert, but decided on doing a color change wrap with Ceramic instead. Will post picts. after the job is complete.
