Article from a Comp Cam XFI Cam swap for 37hp. They added an intake for another 21hp.

probably going to lose sone HP due to the tighter lobe (but gain some mid range torque), aslo with a stock intake lift (no valve springs) of .551 I'm sure the ramp profile would not be as aggressive. The cam is rated at producing power to 7100 but if you look at the final graph, peak HP is at about 6000 to 6100. It is the biggest AFM cam made and I think it is on a 118.5 LSA. Putting that down to 110 is going to a loopy cam... LOL is that a word?

I will have to convert the math from .006" to .050" for the actual valve events. .006 doesn't compute in my .050 brain housing group.

I was just projecting the math to put numbers to what everyone was talking about to give a real world reference of our conversation. You could run it on the 112 or 114 or what ever. There is just a set ICL for a given duration to get a targeted IVCP. That is all I was trying to demonstrate.

In my book, it dictates all. The IVO/EVO/EVC are all important but secondary.

Camshaft Math to Design Competitive Performance Engines
Dry - I need another Beer.

Reduce the LSA to 112 degrees with +6.

The Comp Cam XFI has a 57 Degree overlap for Intake/Exhaust 1 / 44 degree overlap Intake/Exhaust 2

If all they want is sound there are tuners that can give what's called a 'ghost cam' by fiddling with tune at idle.
