I received my ZL1addons lift points today so I could put it on the jack stands soon after. I was finally able to jack the car properly and left the jacks on the side for added safety. The wheel droop is huge so it seems like my 12" Wheel cribs will be useless as I will never be able to jack that high anyways.
I wanted to see if the endlinks were the cause of the clunking noise that I started hearing after my first event (as other members mentioned) and noticed the passenger side end link (upper connection) was loose. I tightened that nut and torqued it to 38 lb/ft and the noise was gone I will call the dealership and cancel my appointment tomorrow.

Silly question I suppose, but I have yet to lift this car up. Is there enough room on the pinch weld to jack the car up with the ZL1 adapter AND place a jack stand? I glanced under the car and the space available for jacking seems rather tight. I have 1 ZL1Addon Pinch adapter and mag puck for jacking up, and I was just going to put the jack stand straight on an available portion of the pinch weld. How are you guys doing it?

^^ what he says. There are total of 3 openings for the rocker panel on each side. Ideally you would want to jack the car from the middle one (still close to the front, leveled with side mirrors) then put the jacks on pinch welds at the front and rear openings.
You may still jack the car from the rear or front but it's more balanced when jacking the car up in the middle section. I hope that helps

i'm disappointed by the lack of good jack points on the car.. you'd think on a performance car they'd have a better option. even my Audi S3 has better jack points. I saw the mustang guys have an option to bolt on a rail fore & aft that looked like a nice option (back when I was cross-shopping... that was actually a big factor in my original decision of 1SS vs GT, the 1LE made the decision easy).
anyway. yeah. i'm not a big fan of these little red things, I use one and it still causes some slight movement until it gets settled as it gets seated. don't like it. |

Mine is sitting on jack stands since Monday, had to take rims for powder coating. I have the red bolt on installed for jacking it up. I have put the car on jackstand in past without the bolt on but saw slight bend in the pinch weld.
I think the real benefit of these bolt ons will be when you take the car to dealer, these hang just below the level of side trim so no chance of someone screwing up the car during lift. |

I just ordered a set of the bolt on jacking pad. When I jack from the rear I go under the diff and lift from there, then once the rear is on stands you can get to the transmission cross-member and lift from there to get the front up and then on stands.
Looks like I will need the pads soon, just ordered a set of pads for both ends. Going to leave the stock 1LE pads in a box for a track day and use the Carbon Ceramic pads for daily use for now. |

Can you post a picture of this spot from where you are lifting the whole front?
I thought there was no such spot in the front and hence the two extra lift spots in the front along pinch weld line. |

It is at the rear of the transmission, where the cross-member goes across the car and bolt's to the tailshaft. I was very surprised at how hefty the cross-member is on the Camaro, it is a solid design for sure. I have used the outer points where the front cradle bolt in as well, but my jack put a dent in the cradle because the platform head on it is pretty big. Now I use a small 2x4 if I am going to lift there but it only gets 1 side of the car at a time. The new lifting pads I got will solve that though. |

So in a sense, yes, yes, you can. But yes, the pinch welds can very easily fold over if you drop it too hard or put it on an uneven section of the jackstand.
What I recently did when changing my oil was use the jack puck/pinch weld adapter in the "center" (it's really not the center at all) and then lowered it onto jackstands directly. Even going slow, and making sure to place it properly on the stand I got a bit of a bend on one of the pinch welds. I ordered a set of the bolt-on pinch weld pucks and I will be using those specifically for jackstands in the future, and I will use the puck/pinchweld adapter for the actual jack. Hope that makes sense.
