So they are bolting them on like Bushwacker truck flares.

Crazy part is they designed the fender to do that.....if you're going to go through the trouble of cutting a new die and re-stamp a panel...why not just make it wider?

Ok, I give. I know how to activate all four exhaust tips on the GT350, but the ZL1 the inside two pipes are clean like nothing is coming out. How do I open them up?

When the valves open, the exhaust gasses bypass path that leads to the inboard tips (path of least resistance), and they stay clean.

If you WANT them dirty...just drive everywhere in stealth mode.

So the inside one that is clean is the Stealth mode... only the outside is used for Sport and more? Really?

Ok, edit here. The picture did not come up for awhile. So it bypasses the muffler all together. Mmmmmm interesting.

Pretty much. But it's just a hair more complicated than that. Think of it this way...

The inboard tips lead to baffled pipes that emit less sound (typical muffler)...and the outboard tips lead to pretty much straight pipes.

The computer, through the four selectable exhaust modes (Stealth, Tour, Sport, Track)...vary the butterfly valve operation on the outboard tip. Different amounts of "open", and under different conditions.

Technically both tips are used all the time except stealth mode...but the inboard one receives very little flow while the butterfly valves are open on the outboard pipe.

Interesting note, at rest and you rev the engine in Sport, if you don't let the engine come down to idle and try to rev it several times in a row, it will automatically switch to Stealth.

Excellent point. Imagine how ridiculous it's going to look with skinnies in the front with those flares.

Yes. Rematch happens when someone loses and they want another try at winning. Sorry. I couldn't resist.

I'm not sure how it sounded like I was confused. Throttle blipping on downshifts to rev the engine up while going into the lower gear is your typical rev match. Quickshifters on bikes cut ignition on the engine as you shift up, unloading the transmission, and also allowing the compression of the engine to slow it's revs during the upshift. Even if it is for a split second, it still matches the revs better than if the ignition wasn't cut, and the engine revved up between shifts like normal.

I'm not sure the ignition is cut during upshifts on the A10. It could be traction control that I was hearing in the videos and possibly my car as well. Like I said, I only noticed the sound in the lower gears. Like the first 2 shifts or so.

Just driving easy, it doesn't seem to cut ignition. The smoothness just seems to come from the gears being so closely spaced that the RPM doesn't change much between gears. I also noticed something under our cars that likely makes the shifts feel smoother, because it's definitely not because our tranny shifts slower than the Hellcat. Even cruising, the shift is really fast. There is a rubber "shock absorber" between the drive shaft and the rear diff.

I'll report back on more spirited driving next time I do it. Of course I still can't open it up, so if it was traction control cutting ignition, I may not be able to duplicate it, since the temp is getting warmer now and the tires will grip better.

Mostly 2.5. It's flattened under the rear diff for no apparent reason and drops down to 2.25 right before it goes into the muffler. The pipes coming out of the muffler are also 2.25. Looking at the cutaway pic of the muffler, the pipes inside the muffler are even smaller than 2.25.

Should be some gains to be had in just an axle back system. So far, what I've been able to look at, the rest of the piping looks good. Nice bends and evrything.
