2 of 50 in Canada

Welcome to the 50 Club...I don't care if I am #1 or #50.

I picked up the car yesterday as the weather was a perfect Sunny 15 C and was my one shot to actually being able to drive the car home without incident (no salt, no snow, no rain). The weather for the next week will be cold/wet and so won't be able to share any real feedback on the car because it will be literally sitting in my garage.

Quick observations so far;

1. The Zl1 add on License Plate Holder - LOVE IT. What's great about it is it does not prevent any air flow restriction. It sits high enough on the front. Solid piece.

2. I am absolutely loving the 10 speed and specifically shifting with the shifter. I am finding this to be the most fun so far. Of course I am not revving the car past 4000 RPM until I clear the break in period and believe me its hard not to want to get into it.

3. When holding the steering wheel I feel the speedometer gauge on the right feels cut off. What I mean is the top right hand corner of the steering wheel ever so slightly blocks the view of the speedometer IMHO. Seems like a small thing BUT I don't want to fight seeing how fast I am going because of where I choose to hold my hands on the wheel.

4. Visibility surprisingly wasn't as bad as I thought considering I have never sat in Camaro until yesterday. With that said I know this is something I will get used to pretty quickly and since the car has the side mirror indicator warning light letting you know someone is in your blind spot I should be fine.

5. Personally I love the sunroof. Again not to start a battle here BUT it comes down to personal preference on this. I like the natural light that comes in from the roof and the ability to flip the roof open so I can hear the car.

6. Will be getting the car covered with Xpel immediately. I will be doing the key areas. (Entire front including splitter, rockers, side mirrors and front/rear lower quarter panels).

7. The car feels SOLID...I have only driven it 25 km's but everything has a tight feel. The seats are pretty comfortable and have great support.

That's about all I can share right now but overall the car has surpassed my expectations. It's nice to know my Zl1 will be unique and rare at least in Toronto Ontario.

I took it to Jason Cavallo at Cavallo Auto Salon in Houston. Jason runs a small shop with hands on service from a guy who methodically oversees everything. His shop is full of Ferrari's and Lambourghini's that he has done the paint correction, Suntek film, and CQuartz put on. My car looks fantastic. PM me if you need more info.

Beautiful car Canadian ZL1, but I am partial to Hyper Blue myself.

I had the same observation about the speedo visability. However, it is easy to toggle MPH into the center dash display. No issues seeing it there. Also there is the heads up display which can display, speed, tach info and gear.

Finally, be prepared for attention. I drove it back from the dealer and stopped three times for gas, etc... Each time, I had at least one person walk up to talk about the car. One even asked if they could take a picture.

You will have a blast with the car!

Thanks MoreSpeed for your comments.

Good point about being able to display the km per hour in my case in the center dash and of course the hud feature. Glad you shared the same observation.

I think I can handle the 'attention' problem...ha ha. I passed a bunch of construction workers on the way home and they saw and heard me coming and were already pointing in awe. I'm sure when I get gas I will become an instant celebrity if you know what I mean. I'll be sure to have business cards and pens ready for signatures.

Cheers!

The Garnet red is SICK. I just wish the red seatbelts didn't clash . The snazzy exterior colors don't get the red belts. Too bad.
