Leather in a 1SS

So I'm going to get a 1SS. The only thing I don't like is the lack of leather. I know I can get the seats for about $1000. I want to get kalahari or similar. My question is:

Can I fully convert a 1SS to the leather trim a 2SS has?

You can do anything with enough time, effort and money. But when you look at the time, effort and money you may find it to be too much.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but that wasn't a very good answer lol. The seats would be $1,000 I can't imagine the rest of the trim would be much more, which $2000 is still wayyyy cheaper than the price difference to 2SS.

Could I get a straight answer and explanation from someone please?

as far as I know there are the seats, the 4 knee pads and the upper doors.

I think the upper doors would be the hardest part and probably not worth doing. I think they are plastic welded in. the 4 knee pads are easy and can be had for $150 around here if your ok with black.

look up the fireball Camaro and some pics and videos from leatherseats.com. they go nuts in that car and I love the look.

Contact sledgehammer70. He is converting to full ZL1 interior. Maybe you can work a deal.

It's not kalahari, not sure how set you are on that.

Yes you can, but you'll need the seat covers, knee pads, and entire door panels. I believe that would complete the leather interior. The steering wheels, shifter, and dash have leather trim on all models IIRC.

Some kind of custom upholstery will probably cost less than installing genuine Chevy trim.

Cost of the new seats and materials will probably cost you more than half of what the 2SS package costs and it won't have heated/vented seat or any of the other upgrades the 2SS comes with, not sure if that's really worth it IMO, but that's up to you.

Check with the upholstery shops in your area.

I bought oem new leather take-offs for mustang gt for $300 had profesionally installed for $500. It looked factory.

I remember seeing gen 6 new leather take-offs on ebay not that long ago for a similar price.
you should be able o get the premium look without the heated/cooled seats for another $1k.

Try SVE in Toms River NJ. They sell on e-bay and have several sets of take off leather from new 2 SS Camaros with 20 miles or less. They used to be known as SLP and convert new Camaros into the limited Yenko Camaros. Good luck!

I considered a 1SS, the dealership mentioned they had done leather conversions in the past and would do one if I wanted. you might start with the dealer and ask the question?
