What's the best street friendly tire for racing from a dig?

Just thinking of upgrading my Pirelli P Zero 275/40/20's. I am staying 20 inch tire. Just wanting to know what you think is the best for taking off from a dead stop. I am not considering drag radials because I do occasionally drive in rain. And will take my car on road trips. Wanting a tire as close to a drag radial as possible , but still can be driven on trips and in rain.

Hmmm. Well that's a drag radial Bo. But I ran drag radials before. I just want to be able to safely drive in rain. And take long trips too without blowing a tire. Can this tire do that Bo?

Out of the drag radials that are out they will do it better than the rest. The R888 tires do well too.

Last year I daily drove on NT05R's and drove with them in the rain, just need to take your time and be smart. Put on a little over 10,000miles and multiple launches. I am now currently using NT555R's and they actually have treadwear unlike the NT05R's.

Does this mean the NT55R's are wearing better than the NT05R's, lasting longer?

Looking at these to see if they would work, so I don't have to go to a drag radial.

Yes, they should; however, due to the weather I have not put many miles on them so far this year.

555R drag radial. They are pretty hard, one step better than stock in my opinion. I would never run stock tires at high power levels... can bust the tires loose even from a roll... Not at good thing.

Ok both you and Bo recommend the nitro 555r. I'm listening. I just wish there was a non drag radial that would take off very close to the same as the drag radial. Maybe it's a pipe dream. Lol. Going to take my time and keep listening and researching. How do the 555r's do on road trips?

I get low 1.7 60fts out of the regular 555 tires but that's prepped.

Haven't looked at those yet. I will check them out. Ever drove them in rain?
