I already ordered a couple spacers (3mm and 5mm). I am hoping that I can get away with a 3mm spacer if not 5mm. Anything above 5mm I wouldn't feel comfortable using on the track
Adding camber plates will be a great benefit for more tire clearance.

I couldn't find any camber plates yet. If I can get away with 3 or 5 mm spacer and/or longer studs I will be happy

Sorry about the late response, I worked on the car at my friend's house last night and couldn't sleep much. I had an appointment at the tire shop this morning. (I will update my build thread with more info for those who might be interested)

Without the spacer it was a bit too close to the strut (may or may not be an issue for those who want to grind the sharp edges). Below picture has taken before the track alignment something to keep in mind:T

I have to say though these wheels look amazing especially in person

And here's the pictures with 3mm spacers on the wheel. As you can see, much better than without spacers. Then again, this is with street alignment (about -1.2 degree camber up front):

I didn't get a chance to put it on the car after the alignment and I am leaving tomorrow for a track event in Oregon this weekend (with OEM setup for a baseline) but I will do my best to get some more pictures after I come back with the new camber.

My plan is to put a 5mm spacer and have my mechanic grind/smoohten out the strut edges a little bit so hopefully the clearance wouldn't be an issue with the track alignment. Worst case scenario, I will have my mechanic install longer studs and I put 7mm spacer but I doubt it will be needed. I will keep you posted

Thanks, I saw that but they didn't reply when someone asked about the update Maybe they released it already

I like the idea of having camber plate if the fitment is really tight so that I wouldn't necessarily lose the clearance. With that said, if I can get away with 5mm spacer I won't touch it and wait till the Multimatic suspension for the Z28 1LE.

Since the Z28 1LE weigh about the same (20-30 lbs heavier than our cars) it should work with our cars with no issue

Those actually look like they would be fine without the spacer and a street alignment. Mine look even closer than yours. the 3mm spacer should be more than enough for a track alignment. Those wheels are going to stick out quite a bit.

Those wheels are a disaster waiting to happen at AutoX or Track.

Get a set of Forgeline or Apex wheels.

No way those wheels clear with tires on them.

Hmm interesting, because on the paper your fitment and mine should be the same after the 3mm spacer (19x10 with +25mm offset is the same with 19x10.5 +22mm offset with 3mm spacer)

Yeah, I wonder if my factory alignment was a little more aggressive than yours. I believe you've seen my photos in my thread which looks similar to yours in terms of clearance. My alignment check using my iphone showed 1.6 degrees on the RT and 2.0 degrees on the LT. This was far from scientific but it's all I got.

And also LOL on the "you should get Apex" comment

Nah I will be fine

The 10.5" wheel and a 3mm spacer actually are further away
I used a 285 tire on both, just to eliminate the tire variable, since the talk (at this point) is on the wheel to strut clearance

I wish the stock studs front and rear were full thread because you could use a spacer and still have good thread engagement. On stock wheels, looks to be between 14.6 and 15mm of engagement when the lug is torqued.

That's a "normal" amount of engagement with similar materials (steel stud, steel lugs) - M14mm stud and at least 14mm engagement. Depending on wheel mounting flange thickness, you may have more or less than stock engagement.

I marked a lug nut and got right at 10 full rotations to full torque after initial thread engaged fully. I also used a paint marker on a stud and got the same measurement.

If someone has different info on "normal" amount of engagement, post it up.
