Becky,

I have a question about a supplier pricing authorization code - I have one, but it is expiring today. My car is at the local rail yard (about 5 miles from the dealer - but it might as well be 1,000 if it doesn't get off the rail car and onto a truck!), but unlikely to be delivered today. The person who got the authorization for me said to ask the dealer to add the code to the order today, even if the car can't be delivered yet, and the supplier pricing would be in effect. This is a dealer that didn't want to honor supplier pricing to begin with, but agreed after allowing the order to be picked up after I cancelled - so I am afraid they will look for any excuse to not honor it.

The question(s): can the code be "attached" to the order before it is delivered, and if so, do you still have to take delivery before the code expires, or does it just have to be associated with an order before expiring?

I figured I would ask the expert (you! ) while I am waiting for the dealer to call me back so I would know whether or not they are being truthful.

Per the supplier pricing website: "Authorization numbers are valid for 90 days toward the purchase or lease of an eligible, new vehicle. You must take delivery of the vehicle prior to the authorization number expiring."

I hope you can find a way around this. Maybe there is some gray area as you mentioned above?

Hey Becky hope all is well, just ordered a 17 Krypton Green 1LE, i'm an employee at the G.M Parma Press Metal plant here in Ohio.
Never ordered a vehicle before am curious as to what happens next?
Your fan base almost has me wishing i was living in Michigan. Lol
Almost drove out there too place my order but figured the hassle would be too big with me trading in my 16 2SS financing wise and such.
Maybe next time around.

That's what I was afraid of. I have a feeling this is going to get messy - very disappointing at the time it is supposed to be most exciting

Still waiting for the dealer to call me, and I am not hopeful

I got the authorization code in mid-December, not long before the order was picked up - who knew I wouldn't be able to take delivery within 90 days?!?

Surely with all the unanticipated delays in getting the ZL1 A10 into production, your dealership and GM will be able to work with you on that. It's not like you sat on the authorization for two months before ordering just a few weeks prior to the expiration date - even THEY didn't know all those delays would happen, so how could you? When I placed my order using GMSD, I kind of felt that their expiration date was more a stick (as opposed to the money savings carrot) for you to buy NOW and help them with their monthly/quarterly sales targets, in which case you did your part.
