I considered trading mine, a 2009 with 155,000 miles, for a new truck instead of the Camaro but it pretty much looks and runs like new. You know the rest...

Want -vs- Need! You want? You said you don't want a new car payment. You don't NEED a new truck, you WANT a new truck.

I have a truck. You know how many times I use it to brink stuff home? ZERO! They deliver stuff for free!

Save your money!
My job is pretty secure luckily and come February I am getting a little over a $2.00/hr raise. I was actually thinking that would probably cover the truck payment.

As I continued to think about it I started leaning more towards your advice. I don't feel I really NEED a truck at this point and even though I can technically afford it the money would probably be better spent towards things around the house I want or need to do. I can always get one later if the need arises.

Thanks everyone for your input.

I would only buy Toyota pickups. Absolutely love my platinum Tundra 4x4. It is my second tundra and I have zero complaints. I drove the gmc sierra 4x4 crew cab but it was under powered (5.3), and not as luxurious as the Tundra unless I shat out 70k for a denali with 4x4 and 6.2 gas (no thanks). Op if you don't need a truck and have a paid off reliable suv I'd vote keep it. I'm partially biased bc both my ss and Tundra are paid for.

Well, n/m this. Got a great deal on a leftover 2016 Canyon SLE crew cab and pulled the trigger. It's a dealer trade though and they have to go get it so I probably won't be picking it up until Tuesday or so. It's also black because I hate myself.

MSRP was $36,675, dropped to $35,987, and it was a $5000 select tag plus an additional $500 incentive plus $1750 in GM Card earnings for a total of $7250 off! I got them up to $16,000 on the trade also after an initial offer of $15,000 which still seemed a little low but that all in all it seemed too good to pass up.

Now I just need to pick what kind of bedliner I want since it doesn't have one.

I always say never again with black too but damn a black Midnight Edition Colorado Z71 is sexy.

I'm just glad GM is finally introducing colors other than white, silver, and beige to their palettes. You can get an orange Equinox. Orange.

This will now be the fourth black vehicle in a row I've bought. I'm trading in my black Equinox on it lol. I keep saying I need to get a different color yet I always end up reverting back to black. Had Chevy kept blue velvet for the 2017 Camaro I probably would have got that. I doubt it would have been much better from a care perspective. I like Hyper blue too but it seems almost too common.

I wish the Canyon came in the Stone blue like the Sierra or a similar blue to the Colorado laser blue. I would have got that color for sure.

Have a '12 f150. It's so nice to have a rig especially when hauling large cargo or when going off the road.

I made it till 2011 without a truck. Now, I cannot live without one.

I haul trailers at least once a week, take it off road with kayaks in the back to get to good launching points, tow people that break down, haul pallets almost every other day, put cages in the back when transporting stray animals to shelters, help friends/family move, and use the tailgate to sit on when drinking beer with friends in the parking lot. It has become a necessary tool for me and a mobile tool box for almost any emergency conditions.

IMO, a car is great for going places in style and comfort, but a truck should be utilized as a tool. Every man should have one tool in their possession, what better tool than a truck!

You... should... r e a l l y_r e s i s t. Being that your arthritis must be flaring up from all the typing you've been doing lately... isn't there a Reader's Digest by your rocking chair that you have been neglecting to read lately, or a cross word puzzle that needs solving

I accept the unavoidable beat down, that these series of comments will bring on one day

Purchased my first truck in October of 2016 and I'm also a fairly new homeowner (2015). I've used it to haul trash away twice and have delivered things here and there. It's definitely not necessary, but I have grown to like sitting high and the interior space is great.
