As I read through the posts it seems to me that the average time from when the car is produced to delivery it's about four weeks… Does that seem right or is it totally random and depend on what part of the country you live in?

Figure about six weeks (seven if rail is involved) from 2000 to 5000, except new intros which can add anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. These time frames are pretty consistent across the Chevrolet vehicle line up. As in everything regarding the Order building process other than a dealer needs an allocation in order to place an order, exceptions happen.
