Another opinion to keep the cats. I went catless on my G8 for a year. I'm pretty hardcore when it comes to putting up with things on a car for the sake of "speed". After all, I drove my 2000 Trans Am for a year (during the conversion to a racecar) with Momo race seats, cage, and no rear seat.

Even I got really sick of the smell. Just a constant gas/oil smell. Sitting at a light. Driving 80 on the interstate. Didn't matter. It always snuck inside the cabin. Eventually put HF cats on and was instantly much happier. Might have lost 5hp. Maybe not.

Go with cats.

I can't stand being behind people who remove their cats and I can smell fuel.... That's ignoring the emissions, etc as well for what? A 10 HP gain? Meh.... You're driving on public roads.... You may be able to tolerate the smell, but shouldn't have to make others tolerate too.

I run the 2" and cats. I didn't see any thing in my dyno graphs that showed a lack of TQ anywhere. I had solid gains from hit to quit. But I made my choice off of going FI at some point. Kooks sells a non cat pipe that can be swapped in and out in probably 10 minutes.

This. ^ Ted went so far as to remove the 2" and install the 1 7/8 set on his own dime, free for me. Ar first I wanted the 2" but Ted convinced me to go with the better power curve. He tested the 2" last thinking they would stay in the car.

In light of the MSD moving things upwards this was a good move. Thanks Ted. Now with a ported MSD I might just have my cake and eat it too.

Thanks Ted.

M6 here.

Get the cats, besides the better sound (slightly, its all raspy) cats are the right thing to do.

On my 06 GTO I had kooks no cats and spin tech exhaust. Never smelled at all 0 rasp, I'm going no case on my camaro. My pocket rocket (turbo 4 cyl) dumped right under the driver seat and never smelled.

Get a drag pack and some axles and kick some ass.

An m6 with a banzai launch and some quick shifting should be able to hit tens FBO with atco air. I'll be expecting some good times from you

Man the pressure is on. While I have all the good bolton stuff and am adding E-85, I do not think a drag pack will get me into the 10s.

A 1.5 60 ft would do it.

The s550 has got very close with less power slightly heavier. Have some faith. But you need that 60 ft. Drag pack and slicks hard hook with 5k launch
