Painting Your Calipers with G2 Paint

I know there are other threads on this, but I just wanted to share my experiences and some pictures.

Give yourself plenty of time, it is a very time consuming process (4-6 hours) because you have to jack up the car, prep the surfaces (clean everything), tape off around the calipers, and put on at least 3 coats of paint and it takes longer than you would think to get in and paint everything. Then you have to let it dry for 2 hours, put the wheels back on and then let the car sit for 24 hours to let everything cure. You can expect this to take up almost a full day, and do it when you don' need to drive the car 24 hours after you finish painting.

I messed up the first time around by applying it a little too thick and even though I went thinner on the 2nd & 3rd coats it was too late and I ended up with small runs that you couldn't tell when you put the wheels back on but I knew there were there so I actually ended up redoing them (sanded down the high spots, roughed up the rest of the surfaces) and re-coated very light coats and then it came out right. Love how they came out!

Attached below is a pdf with step by step procedure & pictures, here's what it came out looking like in the end:

If you're interested in picking up a G2 kit, I actually have a discount code from them, shoot me a PM and I'll send it to you.

I was looking at G2 paint today wondering what color to go with. That yellow looks really good against the blue. Thanks for the pix.

No problem, and yeah I was considering Blue, Yellow, & Red before I did mine, everyone on IG recommended yellow. I eliminated blue because I wanted some contrast from the blue paint since my wheels were black, so that left me with red or yellow, besides everyone telling me to do yellow, I realized the 1 LE's come with red and a lot of people by default go with red and I wanted something different from everyone else so I finally picked yellow, but I think it'll look good either way!

i bought a blue G2 kit and am still debating on using it! I have a couple different colors of brembo stickers on the way even.

Yours looks like it turned out pretty good.. I'm super afraid it will look "cheap"

That car needs some lowering springs! I happen so know someone who sells them...

The car looks awesome! I love the blue with the yellow calipers!

I don't think it'll be "cheap" looking, there are a lot of high end cars that come with colored calipers from the factory stock. This paint is high quality stuff, it comes out good if you put on light coats!

Thanks! I actually reached out to your company via email about special deals/pricing a while back but never heard back so I stopped pursuing. I was going to go with Eibach instead but realized my rear tires are 0.8" larger overall diameter so it filled the wheel gap, not sure if I'll rub with 305/35s in the back but could use lowering int he front. I'm considering switching back to a summer tire, if I do that I can go 305/30 in the rear and lower all 4.
