If you bought a 16-17 SS, you didn't get the LS1

I went for a very enjoyable and spirited drive last Sunday. Spent the weekend at the coast and I didn't have a passenger with me on the drive home. So, I picked the best looking road and pushed my car pretty hard. The V6 handles roads like these beautifully/confidently. And, the V6 has more than enough power to pass slow cars quickly and to power through the corners with aplomb. Even with "just" the V6 I found myself excessively speeding on multiple occasions and had to reel myself back to "safe" speeds.

The road was Hwy 22 from Hebo, OR to Valley Junction. Great section of road. Well paved, quite smooth, with tons of 25-45 mph corners and elevation changes.

here is a video of Hwy 22 from a motorcyclist:

I really need to get a GoPro or a good dash cam so I can start posting some of these amazing roads we have here in Oregon.

The V8 is desireable. But, I have zero remorse - this is a great "sports car"!
Off topic, but I agree. Amazing roads out here in OR. But been a long winter this year, can't wait for some sunny warm weather. The V6 & the SS are great sports cars indeed!

I thought I bought the Camaro I wanted, but it turns out I didn't.
I never thought a body color would bother me so much, The Jalapeno Green that was on my Spark was awesome! I miss it so much.
I love my Camaro, I just wish it was green, I don't have 10,000 to have it painted.
Is trading a 5th Gen for 6th Gen worth it for a color change?
I know the new Camaro is smaller, lighter and faster
I'm just not sure if trading for a different body color will be worth it, what if GM change the Camaro in 2018 like a hp increase on the T4 and V6 there could be interior changes and outer changes.
We all know it's going to happen sooner or later.
I have a lot to think about.

Only had mine for a week-and-a-half. But, I don't foresee any remorse.

I could have bought something off the lot. There were plenty of 2SS cars around. Some were even darn close to what I wanted. But, according to my dealership, Chevy had never built a 2017 2SS with every single option that I wanted (and none that I didn't want). So, I decided to order EXACTLY what I wanted.

Now, I have the ONLY 2017 2SS with my exact package ever built. And I couldn't be happier.

I purchased a ZL1 a week or so ago, and buyer's remorse has certainly set in. Not the "this car sucks" kind, but "I feel slightly guilty for spending so much on a personal toy" kind.

This is my first big car purchase, so that probably has a lot to do with it too.

Look at it this way. You spent ~$60k on the car (round numbers are easier to work with). Let's say you keep it 6 years. After that time, It'll probably be worth 25-33% (1/4-1/3) of what you paid. So, you'll sell it for $15k-$20k.

In other words, you didn't pay $60k for a toy, you only paid $40k-$45k for it!

I had a bit of remorse after I bought mine, due to dealer issues and the damage it had on delivery. Having to wait out this winter kind of sucked too, making payments on a lump of metal in the garage. That all changed when I finally got to drive it regularly. I drive a Subaru Outback on crappy days, and trust me, all that buyers remorse will go away when you're puttering to work in a 4 cylinder station wagon.

My best friend was killed on his job the week before Thanksgiving.... he had no idea that morning that he wasnt going to make it back home that afternoon.

I took a powerful lesson from his passing..... money and planning for the future is all well and good but there is no promise for the future other than we all will eventually die.... either sooner or later and you dont get to take anything with you to play with when you leave.

Life is fragile and we all take a lot for granted but we do have right now... make the most of it and have some fun..... the bottom line is you have to enjoy things here while you can.

I bought my Camaro in December.

No regrets!

I wouldn't call that 'remorse'. That word sounds too much like 'regret'.

More like lack of confidence in your decision. Not the same thing, more like you've stepped out a little past your comfort zone. I think you'll get past this soon enough.

This is an outstanding post. I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend and your words are so very true. We are not guaranteed tomorrow so enjoy today.

You should plan for tomorrow yes - but don't waste today worrying about tomorrow. Live your life.

Correct. That's not buyer's remorse. OP is just unsatisfied. Don't worry. The same thing happens with SS buyers and the ZL1.

IMO the SS is almost too fast. It's an exercise in restraint most of the time that happens before you know it. The V6 may be the better choice to wring out the power.
