Curious question here, would the GMPP intake with the tune work ok with a modified throttle body? Planning to do a throttle body while I want some definitive proof the GMPP intake is worth a darn, but I was wondering how the tune would come into play. Do we think it's just modifying the maf reading which is pre TB so it wouldn't matter?

I just installed mine. It took 20 minutes. Piece of cake.

Do you plan to go to the dealer to get tune? If you do, I would be curious to hear your thoughts before vs. after the tune. Also, what're your first impressions of the intake?

Yes I have an apt tomorrow to get the tune flash. I do have the CEL on currently. I allowed it to idle for 5 minutes, then drove it 5 miles. I did not get on it at all yet so can't tell anything yet.

Got the tune flashed. I would say that there is a little more growl and a little more pull.

Nice! Good to hear. Still debating whether or not to get this so thanks for your input. How much did it end up costing you part + install if you don't mind me asking? My dealer said they would do $499 installed.

I got the kit from thatgmpartsguy. The stealership charged me 1.5 hours labor. That was $180 and I had a $50 off coupon they had mailed me. The service guy looked like he ate a worm while he took the coupon off my bill. Must affect his bonus.

I'm surprised he didn't argue that the coupon was fake or something. Thanks for the info, hope you enjoy the intake.

$499 for intake and install is a good price comparatively - Most dealers want to charge 1.5 hour labor or more had some dealers want to charge me 2 hours @ $130 an hour I told them to take a hike.

My issue was no dealer would do the tune for me without doing the install this was after talking to about 9 different dealers. I could not find any documentation that stated the dealer had to do the install but could not find any documentation that said they didnt either. Found a dealer that charged me $170 for install and tune which after price of part + shipping but me over $500. I am very happy with the look feel and sound but not sure I would do it again for the price and the pain in the ass it was to have a dealer do the work.

That's extremely unfortunate and unsettling, I really don't know how many times I've sold something that was brand new - the customer goes to have the dealer install it and then the dealer tells them it's not even a GM part / that's it's aftermarket because they don't know what it is to begin with or just the simple fact that you are bringing a part to them that you didn't buy from them. Every GM dealer has the access and the ability to do the work since everything is documented on SI (GM Tech All Data). I've have loud conversations with service managers about this before and it always comes down to greed. If anyone ever has this problem please give me a call so I can call the rep and explain how poorly that dealers customer service is.

Yep I called a bunch of dealers with the same experience you had. (trying to buy and install myself and have them do tune) Texted my salesman where I bought the car (1.5 hours away) after I got frustrated with a lot of other dealers. He told me $499. Still not sure if I am going to buy or not. Thanks for your input.

A little tip when installing dont lay the MAF screws on the top of radiator then lean on it with elbow.
