Fixed my hood wrap
Since I bought the 1LE it has had some pretty bad staining on the hood wrap. I don't know if the dealer really knew how to clean it properly or to not leave water sitting on it. Either way Adam's Polishes has a video of ways to clean up matte stripes so I used it on my hood wrap.
After making sure the wrap was fully clean I used some of Adam's VRT on the hood using one of their foam applicators. I did the hood in 1/4 sections and then would wipe the VRT off of the hood. Once I got the hood fully wiped down and off with the VRT I used a clean MF towel to wipe it off one more time. End result was the wrap looks great now. It isn't as much of a matte finish as if was before, maybe closer to satin now but it looks 10x better than it has ever looked. I will try to get some pics once the sun comes out later and show it off. After I got done with the hood I also got the car wiped down and then applied some Adam's H2O Gloss Guard to the car as well. I actually use it on all of the paint and the glass. It does a great job of making the paint pop while also helping the sealant/wax to maintain luster. Liquids just bead up and roll off of the glass and paint now. |

When I put some Blackfire Crystal Seal on the paint, I got a little on the edge of the wrap and it looks pretty good. Since the dealer is going to replace the wrap, I'm going to apply some sealant on the wrap before it goes to see how it looks.

It depends on the Sheen you want, CS will work fine but for some it's a bit too glossy on the 1LE hood.

My main thing was I didn't want a greasy look or feel or to make it attract dust. The Adam's VRT doesn't do any of that at all.
The sheen has came down some with my wiping it off some more, it is getting closer to matte again but the staining is still gone. |

YES! This is exactly what's wrong with my hood! I did buy some chemical guys stuff but if that doesn't do the trick I will pick up this Adams product. Pics please, and a before and after would be best!

I want to see these pics, as a slightly darker tone would be easier to maintain and match closer with the painted parts. |

Well, I kinda like the Matte spray. My wrap was 100% from the dealer, though. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Yea I'm keeping it matte instead of switching to satin so I'm hoping the Matte spray works good!

One thing I did notice is that the wrap in general has a bit of a textured/spotted look to it and that is amplified some by the SVRT. A few weeks ago before SVRT: After SVRT: Close-up /w SVRT: |

Yeah no clue on how long it lasts, I know it's water based so I assume it will diminish on the next wash, maybe 2-3? washes before you have to re-apply. It was pretty easy to apply but takes some work with the towel to buff it and get excess off.
I don't normally dress my tires so I haven't tried it, but I imagine it would give it a little boost and not a super wet look or anything. |

I could not stop it from leaving very visible streaks! Washed it all off and dried with with the Microfiber drying towel, no more streaks. Anyone want a very little used bottle of Meticulous Matte Detailer? |

The chem guys product is fairly predictable of what you get when you ask for detailing questions on the car site rather than the detailing site. Because someone with not very experience will think it works great, when actually it doesn't work too well at all ,if he saw five other superior products. Comparisons are the way to tell......and for that you need a lot of people with experience such as the detailing sites such as detailed image, autogeek, Autopia. When I'm looking for a new product, I never ask on a car forum. The actual amount of educated seasoned responses is too low........Ask there, and you'll have far less products on your shelf, and more that are effective. Conversely, I wouldn't ask about an exhaust on a detailing site , there are more here that have the experience on that.
