I've been thinking about doing HSK 165 to replace the front 6x9s and 3.5" dash speakers. Leave the rears as is and use a JL XDv2 amp w/ signal sensing turn-on to power the fronts + a 10" W6 in the trunk. I'm hung up on how to integrate this with the factory system though. Subth_ump has an amp integration harness but I have to get around to finding the amp if there is one at all. Someone here said it was behind the passenger side rear seat side panel.

Yea I noticed our amp isn't where normal 1SS's is. It looks like it's perhaps the MRC controller? Not sure, I don't have a parts catalog site to look things up. I guess once one of us actually posts pictures of where the 1SS 1LE amp is then we can plan better.

I saw a pic of it on the forum, I'm pretty sure it's behind the plastic panel to the right of the rear passenger seat. I'll be waiting until summer but I do plan on upgrading the speakers at least. I read somewhere that they're 2 Ohms so my initial plan is to try to find some efficient 2 Ohm brand name speakers. I don't think I'll bother with a sub but that'll be a game time decision.

Yeah, I've been thinking about this too. Maybe I'll just do the same as davef and upgrade speakers but add the harness and an aftermarket amp to run them. May be the best I can do without adding big time weight and cost. My wife's gonna kill me no matter what.

I have speakers in my rear deck, but mine is a V6 2LT 1LE with the 8IN screen and Bose audio... might not have all the HP you guys got but I have all the fun goodies and tech.

well since i found out the 1SS camaro's don't come with rear speakers what are the best speaker options for our 6 gens (taking delivery of my 1LE in the next week and a half).

They do have rear speakers. They're in the rear side panels.

I mean't the rear deck I honestly don't know how it sounds cause I still didn't receive the car yet but i used to own a Cobalt SS with the pioneer system in it and had it upgraded so Im getting the feeling that with those 2 speakers missing it'll bother me plus I like bass...didn't really buy the car for the sound system but if it has the cutouts and someone sells a good system why not just put one in
