285 35 20 fit??
Hey Camaro peoples.....
I know this has been discussed but I need to buy some new rubber for the front of my 17 2SS. I know 285 30 20 is the 1LE size, but I really want to go 285 35 20. I have MRR 017 20 x 10 in the front with MRC. Thinking Pilot Super Sports. Some say they fit and some say they rub. Anyone running this size with PSS and MRC??? Thanks

Nope. It will rub at full steering lock, and may possibly hit the strut on the front, unless you get a lot of clearance with the right offset.

After reading millions of threads here's the conclusion..
WITH MAG RIDE 20x10 +23 275/35 ✅ 285/30 ✅ 285/35 ❌ will rub .. this size will work on 1SS w/o mag ride |

I had Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G2s in 285/35/20 up front with the SS 1LE wheels (2SS with MRC). They didn't rub, but Michelin's in the same size are likely a little different in actual size.
When I swapped for Michelin Pilot Super Sports I went with 275/35/20s in the front and was much happier. I'm not sure if it was just a difference in tire quality or tire size, but it was so much easier to steer after the switch from 285s to 275s. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=469102 |

dont forget every tire is made different so a goodyear 285/35/20 may fit but a continental or michelin 285/35/20 may not fit

I'm going to go with 275's in the front. I have MRC and it seems some 285's fit, some don't. Not gonna chance it over 10mm, and I don't race, drag, or auto-x, so I'll never miss it!
