GM should address your concerns, but no Al O. I'm just guessing it's not under his purview, but maybe someone knows better. |

On a separate note, I got a random text from my salesman saying my status hadn't changed. Perhaps the allocation #s have arrived for the next cycle and some movement may be starting in statuses soon.

Wouldn't it be great?
Maybe they will bump the TPW's to earlier dates? Would that be okay? Be optimistic. Ordering for the 2018 model year begins in early June 2017. No word yet on 2018 Camaro models, except the ZL1 1LE Camaro of course. Good luck to all.

GM says Target where I say Tentative. Both carry the same meaning in general but to me Tentative is closer to reality.
Doing a retail sold order is a true roller coaster ride, as this thread reflects. It is among the most fun and most frustrating activities an adult can enjoy in public. And in the end, the person who ordered is rewarded in a most unique way. Laborsmith |

Targets are just that... something for planning purposes GM is shooting for. They adjust /change them all the time more than we ever know and have never historically been something set in stone. This is a date for them... not us. But here on C6 we have a lot more knowledge than most and follow all movement with hopes it happens. I plan oil well drilling in my spare time. We always have target completion dates and they adjust every few days so logistics of pipe and other things can all come together at the right time. It's the same thing. Fingers crossed the 1st DSOP in March we see firm dates. |

Wow...there is Sooo much that goes into production for a newly launched product that affects output.
Namely capacity of the supply chain directly tied to capacity of final product...take in tooling / production issues, preventive maintenance of production / tooling equipment, random QC checks, minor / major corrective actions during WIP. I could go on, but any of this and more can affect efficiencies. I Understand the frustration & the end customer NEVER CARES, but a little respect of understanding the immense pressure they are under is often over looked here. You guys have got to understand the GM & Supply base is under a HUGE amount of scrutiny to perform. It's not like they want to have their performance measure dinked, which are getting monitored throughout the process. Nothing but very very rare catastrophic issues this far down the road will cause them to fail...they will deliver. Last edited by Artos; 03-01-2017 at 09:10 AM. |

The key to any successful relationship, whether it be personal or professional is COMMUNICATION ! A lot can be forgiven if knowledge is shared, trust built up and anxiety lessened. I would propose that no dealer be allowed to "place" an order (event code 1100) unless there is actually an available allocation left sometime during the model year, regardless of which (unknown) DSOP it might eventually fall in. In the case of what is occurring now, information should be distributed to dealers, forums, alert on main web site to the effect that "Due to rescheduling on account of elimination of the third shift, tentative production weeks after 03/20 are being rescheduled".

Hi Everyone! I have been a member of C5 and C6 for some time now. I have been patiently waiting for some time, like a lot of other people, for my new ZL1 A10.
On the morning of March 16, 2016, when the ZL1 was revealed at the NYIAS, I knew right then that I wanted a Red Hot A10. So the 2012 ZL1 #657 I had was getting sold. So right away I sent my brother-in-law Jason, who loved camaros, a message to check out the new ZL1 that night when he got off work and to call me. Jason never got to see it. He was actually killed in a grain elevator accident that afternoon in a small town here in Nebraska. He so much wanted to see this car. I ordered the new ZL1 A10 as soon as it was available to order. We HAD a TPW of 3/27/17. GM only sees a 6 digit number letter code and do not realize that the cars are more than just a daily driver or weekend hot rod. They are what Dreams and Memories are made of. I hope everyone's dreams come true SOONER that later. Just my thoughts. Thanks! |
